Good Afternoon, FS Warriors! I'm still holding my own. I stayed pretty busy yesterday, my time being consumed by scheduled activities, and well, by activities driven by forces outside my span of control. I headed to town 45 minutes away to get drain pipes and a sump pump basin for the new pool room. I did get them, but got a "Hot Engine" message about half way there. I remembered that day before, I had gotten a Low Coolant message, but figured I had plenty of time, since the other truck gave me weeks after I got that light, before the temp gage showed any reason for concern. It was about 94 degrees or so, but I turned the air conditioning off, raised the temp control and put the fan on high. That got me to a local convenience store, but the temp gage was showing dangerously hot. I picked up a couple gallons of distilled water and coolant/antifreeze and had to occupy till the temp dropped to a level where I could add the fluids. I repeated this cycle a couple times, once at the store, and the other after shopping at the home improvement store. Anyway, all is well, mission accomplished - just a bit delayed.

The diet is still going well. I only had a small bowl of instant oatmeal and a cup of vegetable juice before heading on my adventure yesterday. By one or two o'clock, I just felt like I was starving. Maybe not the best of choices, but considering I felt like I could almost kill for food, I had a braut and bun with jalapeños and mustard (which commenced to tear my guts up for the rest of the day, and keep the porcelain throne exercised) and a bottle of Schweppes carbonated lemon and lime water. DW wasn't feeling great; did a trip to Walmart, took a sleeping pill when she got home, and was out light a light when I got home. It was pretty apparent that she wasn't going to be eating supper, so I did the Ramen Noodle thing, and it was plenty enough for me. Later on in the evening, we both enjoyed a cup of banana split ice cream, and I still managed to stay within my self imposed boundaries.

Fast forward to today, after church. We installed a few new members, and we all went out to eat for lunch. I ordered all white meat fried chicken - skin and all - yellow corn and baked beans. The baked beans were awful, so I didn't eat them. Ate about half the corn, and a wing and a breast. I'm still not always making the right choices, but I am getting fuller faster, and quitting before I look like I swallowed a beer keg. The chicken was delicious, but twice as much as I needed, so brought a box home. One saving grace is that we don't usually eat another meal on Sunday, after the big meal we usually eat after church.

I'm off work tomorrow, and we are still undecided what we are going to do. We considered going on a motorcycle ride, but it's just too darn hot. Even if you are going 80 miles an hour, if it's 95 degrees, the wind does not cool you down. Blowing hot air does not make the ride any more enjoyable. I love to ride in the Fall weather. Guess I've become a fair weather rider. I'm sure we will find something to do though. I hope you are all having a wonderful Labor Day weekend. Toodles!

Thank you, Kathryn! A person that can't laugh at life is doomed to endure it. The rest of us live it.

Glad you had a good food day - and as usual took care of the mechanical issue with ease!
