My wife and I had a wonderful day Monday outside in the sunshine and warmth. Cooler mid-morning, and then an upper warmth day (but not like HOT) in the afternoon. When I play golf she sometimes joins me and goes along for the ride, support for my game, companionship, and just to be outside on a beautiful day. Had a solid round and shot a 77. Afterwards, we had what was supposed to be an early dinner, but because the 18-hole round went so quickly, we were at the restaurant by 1:30 PM. Although the picture of the food shows a somewhat messy plate, this is a dish of "Voodoo Pasta" at The Depot which is the much older former train station in our town. Wonderful restaurant. Basically, it is a Creole pasta dish in a spicy Alfredo sauce with Chicken, Shrimp, and Andouille sausage. I also had a good sized salad. It was delicious. Pasta is a dish that I eat maybe 2-3 times a year. I love pasta, but as everyone knows it can add a temporary weight gain,.....and did. My wife was much more reasonable and had a beautiful salad with vegetables, various fruits and chicken. So, although I did have some fruit and nuts on the golf course and a couple dates last night, yesterday's late lunch/dinner was it for the day after the round of golf. So, everyone keep focused, keep exercising, and keep losing / maintaining the weight. God is good !!

I think it's wonderful that you splurged and treated yourself to something so tasty. you never know if the restaurant will have that wonderful dish next time and it's great to have something so special and delicious. I know that my Nana still speaks of all the wonderful experiences that her and Papa had when he was still with us and the fun times that they would have when they would go out to the Canary Islands and the fun places they would go when they went out. I think it's fantastic that you guys are going out and spending time together. If that means a little added weight gain here and there that you have to work off, I think that's okay. If nothing else in my opinion it's worth the extra effort for the wonderful experience as you gained. 😊

Leah_guffey, we really did have a great time. Creole and Cajun dishes are among my favorites when they are prepared correctly. This was really good.

I had pasta (with clams) last night also and am up 1.6 pounds today. Partly it was the bread I used to soak up the sauce. Starting over today. Glad you had a good time.

Snowwhite 100, I had that extra piece of Italian bread and did the same thing with the Alfredo sauce. Gotta consume all of that extra goodness. :) And,..I did pay for it the next day with a "2" pound gain. But Thursday A.M. today, I weigh less than I did Monday A.M. prior the afternoon meal.
