In my quest for some kind of nutritional accuracy, I did a proper weight measurement on an average avocado... it comes out to 79g of edible substance, not 150g. I am going to end up with a very long list of custom foods, all established from the usfda's nutrient search website. I have yet to find one as comprehensive for Canada though.

That’s what I like about Cronometer. It’s great for data. I like the layout here better though, which is why cronometer didn’t stick for me.

You know, with the number of whacky-doodle devices they have out there, you'd think by now someone would have created a kitchen scale that can accurately (or reasonable so) the "edible" substance of food (less peel/stone/bone weight). I'd love it if it were able to download the latest information, upload your values, a database of ingredients with collected data. Ahh to dream. Or, perhaps there is something out there that I just haven't heard about yet.

@StomachMonkeys... did you cross reference their info with a reputable source, IE Harvard or another recognized authority like the USFDA?

@CarbAbuser, there are so many variables, I have found it best to do the calculations myself, using reputable sources for the numbers.
