What a great, but HOT, week. Records all around the mid-state area & south. Finally dropped below 208, and continuing to get closer to my short term goal of 200. It is amazing how quickly the weight comes on from holidays and trips, and the difficulty of getting it back off.

This week has had some very positive outcomes. I had a good round of golf, the garden is finally producing some vegetables, received an epidural shot for my back, and we purchased a new zero-turn mower. The previous zero-turn, though the engine is in great shape, is about shot. It is 18 years old, and has held up nicely after cutting our smaller pasture with all of the lumps and bumps that are inherent in a pasture. Also, on the way home from the epidural and purchasing the mower, we ALMOST had an auto accident. A guy turned right (without stopping) off of a side street without looking, and I did a hard turn left into the left lane to avoid him. There were 2 pickup trucks following me. The truck in the right lane was also able to avoid the guy who created this situation. And the other truck in the left lane was able to slow down enough that I did not hit him (or him hit me) when I swerved. And, THAT is why I use a dash camera with front and rear views in our truck and our Honda CR-V.

The picture is of our early crop of delicata squash. We cut them in half and air fry with some butter, salt, pepper, and a very litte splash of maple syrup. The entire squash is edible.
