It’s literally in the name! Notice it say carbs facilitates for sodium and water. The more carbs you intake the more water it holds and the more sodium it holds which holds its own water content. Creatine also pulls in water to store. So the amount of hydration you can hold is the amount you have of these content on your body. So if you’re low carb, means your low sodium. So the amount your body is able to absorb from the water you drink will be low. So you’d have to drink often otherwise.

Drinking extra water & having extra sodium is part of the low-carb plan. Carbs certainly do help hold water! I guess that's how I shed 32 lbs of water weight in 6 weeks. Nice post.

That's really interesting! And makes loads of sense. Do you all think this is why eating more fruit in summer helps with hydration? Or does it need to be another variety of carbs? Or are all carbs equal? Thank you for sharing, SuperG!

Wisco all carbs gets stored the same. Except the one from fruits comes with extra goodies like electrolytes

Cheesepuff, have you ever taken Creatine for a long period of time? It might possibly help with your migraine 🤔 just a thought

Thanks! That's what I thought, but I am learning something new all the time here. I appreciate you, and the others, who put forth the effort to provide this good information. It's very helpful! 💚

Wisco many fruits are high in water content as well. That is the biggest reason they help with hydration in summer. Someone posted a pick not long ago that had the water content of many mainstream popular fruits.

Yea if you want to dive deeper and wonder why the body holds more sodium when you intake more carbs it’s cuz the presence of more glycogen tells your body that there will be lots of contractions which it needs sodium to do. Interesting stuff

What are your thoughts on the role that calcium and potassium are playing along with sodium and carbs?

Zenus, you bring a great point. I think that’s why people are quick to go into keto type diets. It’s that initial loss but it’s mostly water and that’s why for some after that initial loss they start seeing gains. What I don’t like about keto is lack of hydration and most believe they can eat in a surplus and not get fat. What that water loss does is mask the fat gains. But ones who eats keto in a deficit will continue to lose

Yea try it for 4 months. Everyday, cuz it takes time for it to saturate your system. I didn’t notice the strength gains till a month and a half in. I think you drink plenty of water already right? If not drink extra water while your saturating your system. Once it’s fully saturated you can go back to normal drinking. But yea new research on Creatine and the brain is some interesting positive stuff. It’s immediate energy for your body. Like the fastest energy source. So it helps your body a lot.

I love fruit so filling up my carbs is easy! But I do drink an electrolyte during workout that has a little protein and glucose in it. I sweat awful during my workouts for the hour I am there. We are allowed water breaks between our different workouts so I get 4 of them in 1 hour so I drink up! I also eat a banana one hour before my workout.

Yes 3-5 is good. Do try it out! Worth a shot

Yes rpl, so Gatorade has been shit on as an unhealthy drink. Which it is if you are sitting on your ass all day. But if you are working out, it’s very good as it contain fast acting carbs and sodium to refill the ones you used n loss. Cuz without those two if you are empty of those your body can’t get hydrated. It will just use what water you drink and pee out the rest. That’s why they tell you to not drink distilled water. Cuz it’s just plain water inside there and it will dilute your system out

Oh wow did not know that about distilled water but I don't drink anyway. Thanks for the info - You always have a lot of good knowledge.

Supes, it’s because there’s lots of marketing involved. It’s great for people who are actually working out, especially those who sweat a lot. the other applications are kinda sus.

Agreed katsolo! Dextrose is like bio identical to your blood sugar, so it goes through the gate real quick! And if you are sedentary. You are creating a problem for your system to deal with. But when your body is demanding it. Fast payout is the best payout 😏
