Back out walking today...3.2 miles along the lake route plus the new loop over there. Hopped into the pool, probably for the first time today, as I may go in later, depending on what activities occur.

Dogs got a nice 2-mile walk with DH much earlier this AM. They were thrilled, as they hadn't been out in the neighborhood for 3 days!

Last night's dinner out was a success. The plans were changed just prior to everyone leaving work, so we ended up at a restaurant closer to home, a newer restaurant with a Caribbean atmosphere. I opted for prime rib, over the daily fish, which was grouper. Their "small" prime rib was 12 oz., so I just cut it in half, bringing a nice-size leftover back home. Double veggies (mixed plus asparagus) rounded out the meal. It's a great place I've been anxious to try out and I can say we'll definitely go back.

At one point in the meal, I glanced around at our group and was amazed to see perhaps a quarter or more of the individuals with their heads bowed over their cell phones! Texting, tweeting, surfing, or whatever! Isn't it sad when our technology obsession keeps us from interacting personally with others who are right there in front of us? Before all this smartphone stuff, we'd actually have to sustain a conversation with people face-to-face, connecting with and reacting to them in the moment! Oh, the horrors......

I agree wholeheartedly about the smartphones...I have 1 and love it as it is quite helpful with the diet/exercise, however, I never use it when interacting with someone in person...I especially find those Bluetooth hands free sets awful. I think someone is addressing me, or perhaps is conversing with one's other personalities, and low and behold there's the little device sticking out of their ear...yeesh! Well enough ranting, I'm so glad you had a good night, you deserve it! Enjoy the good weather! ~Jen

Sandy - Glad you had a nice dinner! Technology can sure be irritating, if not down right rude. But I'd still rather have them doing it at the restaurant than behind the wheel.

Well Jen, I'm one of those with a Bluetooth! But, I try to not wear it except in the car, so as not to do exactly what you're talking about! I'll tell you what...ever since I got the Bluetooth, I feel very vulnerable NOT wearing it in the car - I really love the hands-free feeling.

So true, Buffy. I'm such a spazzz at texting anyway, I couldn't imagine trying to do it AND drive at the same time. It's even worse than those who try to put on mascara while driving! YIKES!!!

Sandy - I've got one of those Fords that talks. It is funny when someone rides with me for the first time!

Oh Sandy...I meant nothing by it...I have 1 too. I just don't use it in stores and restaurants...just car and home, and yeah I LOVE the hands free feeling too! Very safe :)

Jen, no worries, I didn't take it personally. I knew exactly what you meant as I've done a double-take or two when there's been someone on a Bluetooth chatting away to no one in the vicinity!

Hi Sandy, your my hero walking the way you do..I am going to do my Wii Walk it out and the treadmill in the morning...I sure have missed my little routine..I have to agree with you on the texting etc. while your out with someone..why go out with friends if your only going to talk to someone else...Oh yeah the bluetooth things are annoying as well..like you said you think someone is talking to you only to find out they are chatting with someone on the phone..Have a wonderful evening girl....Bren

Bren, sounds like you're all ready to get right back into the swing of things at your own place. When I'm all melted in the heat, I don't feel all that heroic, but I'll take the compliment anyway. Have a wonderful week at home.
