Big Boy Optimus's Journal, 24 Jun 15

Whew! Signed up at the gym on Monday after 8 months and today I had my 2nd session for the week :) My muscles are sore and my strength and recovery levels between sets were terrible but that's normal and I'm sure my muscles will build strength again over the next few weeks. The pain is kinda motivating! I'm very curious to see what tomorrow's weigh-in will be like.

You might see a gain or a stall because sore muscles retain water ;-) but maybe not.

Going to be very interesting to see what the outcome is tomorrow morning. At least we can blame water retention if there is a gain/stall :D

Ah, lifting is good stuff. Pain you shouldn't have. Soreness... you gotta love the sore that comes from a good lifting session. I know the saying is 'No pain no gain'. I guess "No soreness no gain' doesn't have the same ring to it. Cheers fellow grunter. (I'd call you 'Bro' but it's 'totally' not my style.

Ooops you are right northernmusician, its soreness. As long as I can lift another day then I can live with this soreness :)

Snezica you were spot-on! Picked up 0.4kg due to the sore muscles retaining the water as you warned me about. Not disappointed with the weight gain as it's all part of the journey. Let's see how the next week goes :)

You probably lost weight, you just can't see it yet because of the water retention ;-)
