StomachMonkeys's Journal, 25 Apr 23

If y’all care, here’s another place I spend time online. Having a place to post my workouts helps me stay consistent with training and nutrition, even if nobody else cares or pays attention. And having a timeline of progress (or not) is handy too! 🍻

I use a tool too and it actually compares me to other women my age and ranks you as Novice, Intermediate, Advanced and Elite. I have been using it for 3 years and love the graphs that show my progress up and down. It helps me when I am not at my usual gym to know what to incorporate in my workout too.

@Red: My garmin watch does that as well. I assume it is based on what other users are tracking and plots you into wherever you land on the curve. While that is kind of fun, at least when your numbers are good anyway, I don't think it’s particularly useful. So many variables between people’s physiology, lifestyle, needs, etc. I much prefer to compare myself to “past me” and/or “future me”. That, in my opinion, is the only fair and accurate comparison we can really make since we dont know all the details of what someone else has done or gone through (or not gone through) to get where they are. @Erin: I ran the numbers and the math seemed to fit for that username 😝

Yeah I only look at it for my own graphs. I know the only thing it does is comparing you as advanced vs. elite it is based on a graph of other's in my age category. It doesn't lump me in with a 25 year old female. I can set personal goals and the graph is only for me and will show my progress on reaching it. I have to input everything in as far as my workouts and there are things missing. It doesn't have things like a prowler, ropes or if you are doing weighted planks. It did add kettlebell swings recently so they are starting to adapt to more than just weight lifing. I will have to check your's out to see how it works. Love stats!
