Happy Monday FS fam! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! We finally got some snow up north and was able to ski in some real stuff. I was just considering quitting skiing because of the weekend before. There was sooo much ice it took me what felt like an hour to go down an easy slope… what I would consider a warm up to the ski day. I had never been so frightened. The mountain was no icy in patches but icy in the middle half of the mountain. I spent most of that time standing in place trying to get my nerve to move just a little. My knees hurt me after one run since when scared or unsure of terrain I resort to snow plow/ pizza.
Happily yesterday was better. Ice patches developed later in the day but over all it was light powder. Sooo much fun. So I guess I wont give up the sport. Though while thinking about quitting skiing was was thinking maybe I’d try do better snowboarding. I may still try snowboarding. Hunter mountain told me I can rent the snowboard and if I dont like it trade the rental back to skis on the same day.
NY has another winter advisory today woohoo! More snow.
And if you’re wondering how this is weight related, I consider skiing as my full day of exercise and mental health. These one day of nothing but outdoor activity is usually what keeps me on target because the goal is more fun than weight loss.
