p$m's Journal, 16 Jan 23

Happy Monday FS family! I hope everyone is having a long weekend. I had to work today but it’s ok. My emails seem slow so I’m not feeling FOMO.
I finally got out to ski yesterday for the first time for the season . It was icy.

@livin anytime lolll I miss skiing too. I was putting off going be cause there hasn’t been much snow and man made snow is not my favorite. But a friend at the gym told me he had been skiing for 2 weeks which pushed me to go. You should go!!!

I have the 'fever'! just don't have the strength and flexibility needed to put sleds on my feet and make it down the hill without taking out everything in my way 🤣 I grew up on New England's 'slopes' 😆 I like to go FAST and I'm not ready,,,,yet! Please keep posting those photos, brought me right back with cold wind on my face, the weight of the skis' dangling even laughing at the occasional person riding the lift back down 🤣😆🤣 I'm working on it, just don't have enough progress to show it yet.

OTB-I used to ski on ice (Attitash) if we didn't have time to get anywhere else! Man-made snow is snow...GO SKI bring the littles with you. Family that ski's together ...

LivinBreezy I grew up skiing ice more than snow 😄 so I'm not worried about that part lol kids will be at school though still need to get them on the snow this year

@livin when I was younger speed was the game. Now I’m all about slow and carving and enjoying being outside and talking to strangers on the lift. I go slow. I’ve been skiing for years but I stay on beginner / intermediate slopes. And yesterday was icy under the fake snow, so yep green slopes only.

@P$M, I was taking about possibly racing again! I love a regular day enjoying the slopes 😃. Bretton Woods was 'home' family, friends, meeting new friends. Ski back to Condo, cook up a good meal, hit the gym and hot tub, asleep early and back to the slopes early the next morning. Early am sun coming up, so quiet and peaceful almost no one else around bc they're still eating breakfast or hungover from the night before (fools, I say). If you love nature as much as I do, you understand what I'm talking about. I need to get back to hiking.

@livin. Oh wow racing yep that was my little brother who got into that. Skiing never came naturally to me. I’m from WV and started skiing in high school. My brother started in grade school. I was the kid you left the ski school cause she was so embarrassed that she couldn’t stop when snow plowing but still loved it enough to learn by hugging trees to help me stop. No helmets back in my day. Loll. Great for you.. I love watching the racing and the terrain park those tricks are amazing. Only in my wildest dreams. I do love being outdoors. I learned that late. I had to move to NY and after I finished all the clubbing and being a foodie I found a love for nature.

@P$M-Finding appreciation/love for nature is a gift. To be able to 'still' yourself and become one with nature... it's very calming... all clutter disappears. I would like to climb up to Tuckerman's Ravine again. It's too late for me to ski the bowl but climbing up, having a picnic and watching others, I would love that! (no helmets when I started skiing either, I was 9?, those were the days 😵 where did that tree come from 😆)

OTB-It's a hell of a climb! We saw these couple of guys have 'helpers' once, when they got to the bowl the rest of the skiers trashed those wimps. It was brutal watching it all happen 🤷‍♀️ Let me know when you're going, I might be talked into taking video of your run!!!
