12/27/22 was my "Day of Reckoning",...that day after the holidays when I take a hard look at the scales, and know exactly what I've got to do going forward until I re-achieve my goal weight. My goal is 180 for a maintenance weight. My wife says I look "too skinny" at 175, so I compromised and chose 180. On 12/27 I weighed 209.4. That is the most I've weighed since 4/10/20. I've bounced around between 185 - 195 for the past 24 months, and then let the Holiday season and lack of exercise for the past 3.5 months catch up to me. Yesterday, I put on the brakes to the Holiday skids, and stopped the lack of control. This A.M. I weighed 204.2. Now granted, most of what I lost is additional "water weight" from all of the salt, but it is a positive sign. I am back on the bike riding 30+ minutes since 12/9 and did 8.3 miles this A.M. in 32 minutes. That is a little over 15 MPH which is about 1.5 MPH less than my average when I am riding 90 minutes. The injured knee cannot handle much more than 30 minutes at this time, and I still need to do some PT exercises this afternoon. Pure Protein and Premium Protein shakes are in my future meals at least once a day until I have achieved a "fast drop" wall at which time I will return to 3 regular meals of about 1500 calories per day with at least 9 servings of vegetables & fruits per day plus fat & protein percentages. The old saying is "5 is fine, but 9 is divine". That is the norm that we have eaten the past 4 years. It works, and one does not need special programs to lose and maintain at levels that are normal. We are all in this together trying to lose & maintain our weights at normal levels. Keep focusing, keep achieving, and stay with your program. Be well my friends. God is good !!
