Happy Hump Day FS,

It's been a while since I've been able to participate. Going to conferences can not only helped me stray from exercise but my diet as well. I'm scared to weigh myself but I will tonight.

On another note, does anyone have a mom or mom-in-law who practically lives in the kitchen? OMG! My mom-in-law is trying to force me to serve so much food for the Easter holiday. I told her (in a nice sort of way)...HELL NO! We're doing something simple and if she wants a huge feast she'd better host it herself because we will not be left with all that food in our fridge.

Too Harsh? Your feedback is warmly welcomed.

I so understand, my family is the same way. My mom and brother always plan big holiday dinners. Lucky they are all held at my parents house. Try suggesting that you will bring something with you, and that way you can make it healthy and something you would eat even if it comes home with you. It works for me most of the time. Also I keep my refrigerator "looking" full. I store meats, cheese, produce is oversized semi-clear storage containers so even if I have very little it always looks full. That way I can tell them that I don't have the room to make a big meal at my house.

Hi Meddo, I like your suggestions. However, my in-laws have down-sized to a one bedroom condo so large family gatherings will not take place at their home anymore. I don't mind being in the rotation of hosting but "for the love of God" she believes that a ton of food should be served every time. Well, she won't get me this time. A four-course meal is my limit for this upcoming holiday. :-)

If she gets upset about downsizing the meal, suggest she make anything else she wants to eat and then send it home with her.
