Body fat 25.something 😎

I'm sincerely struggling with the feeling of hunger all day long. I try to drink a bunch of water because maybe it's dehydration, but that doesn't seem to help. I need to go get my bloodwork done so I can figure out of everything is good there.

I'm also reading a book written by a female athlete who got her PhD in nutrition, and it talks about how female athletes need to fuel differently than men - one thing being not working out in a fasted state. I've been eating bananas before swimming and biking but not running (I was afraid of reflux, but if I don't get it while swimming, running is probably OK). And I know for sure I need to increase my protein, I do not eat enough at all.

I was thinking of scheduling an appt with a nutritionist, too, to see if I can get more concrete meal suggestions for more protein (vs. eat more chicken!)

As far as running, I did pass 50 miles last month, and I'm already in the 20s for September. 🙃 Foot is still bothering me sometimes, but no longer while running.

I hope you all have a fantastic week 😊

hunger is upregulated when deficient in micronutrients and/or macronutrients. Make sure you cover at least 300 calories from protein

@jennifer, thanks for the suggestion, but I try to avoid too much cheese. I'm lactose sensitive so I can't use cheese as a source of protein

Thanks everyone, yup, I need to increase that protein! 💪

do you think you are eating enough? I seem to need to eat so much more when I do a long run

Costco sells a chocolate protein drink with 30 gm of protein and 160 calories.

Yey ! 50 miles are great, keep it going & eat more protein. We CAN do this !

When I increased good fats my satiation went way up. Plus, they taste really good with protein! You've got this!

@cindylynnwho, I think I'm eating enough calories for sure, my protein averages around 50/60g a day, which just isn't enough 😕 I struggle with getting in a good amount of protein and eating way too many calories. The struggle is real!

@alfonzo, eggs are great! Why minus the yolks? Egg yolks are actually pretty good for you

@Celery9494, I have pea protein powder that I mix with banana almond milk. I can't do protein shakes because they either contain whey protein or they taste terrible compared to what I already use. Thanks though!

@MattRideGolfRun, yes! We're meeting our goal sp far for the year 😀 I haven't counted my bike miles yet, but I'm pretty sure I'm on track! How are you doing?

Maybe I can do my pea protein shake every day. In the past when I tried I usually went over my calorie limit or my fiber ended up going down. Peas have iron which could help with some of the other weirdness, too

Hi Ashley, I’m doing fine and good to hear from my running maestro that we can meet our 1000-mile goal 😁 I also need to bulk up with protein so I can sling the little golf ball a long way 🏌🏾‍♂️⛳️

Ah i understand Asarver. Protein is important. The pea protein shake sounds good. Interesting also about females not exercising in a fasted state.
