Oh wow I love this so much!! Climbing walls are fun to me even though I'm afraid of heights (or more accurately, the fall & sudden stop!! lol) Maybe bc you're on a harness & they're not mountain high. Congrats & kudos on your determination & skill getting to the top! And joyful clapping & smiles for Groot!!

@lightbeing pontifex - that IS a baby, it's Groot from the Marvel movie "Guardians of the Galaxy". Fyi he was skillfully played by Vin Diesel as all he ever says is some version of "I am Groot". It's pretty much a Masterclass for acting emotions! Funny too. you should see it. 😀

@3Dkids Thanks!❤️ I do always appreciate the encouragement. @Eriqu Yes, it was scary at first. This climb was very mentally challenging for me. Being spread out like that with no ability to really hold was scary. It took me 3 weeks to send this wall.

@lightbeing my first though when you asked about the baby's face was ugh... arm fat but yes Hazel is right. It's Groot (chalk bag) from Marvel comics. @Diana ❣️

@Hazel I'm also afraid of heights though I dont feel fear necessarily in the emotional sense. I have a physical reaction - vertigo (dizzy and nauseas), especially with our tall wall at the gym. The usual wall is maybe 30-40ft. The tall wall is I think 40-60ft. I try not to look at it too long. It's really a mental game. Also I top rope so you fall but no real sudden stop. The autobelay catches you after a few seconds and then slowly lowers you. If you have a belay partner, they just catch you where you are. You learn to trust it or your partner. There is no climbing without a harness unless you boulder. I dont do that. It's too hard on my knees when it's time to jump down.

@litte mermee Thanks! You're in NY like me. This is in LIC. I get a free day pass every month if you'd like to try it out. Let me know. I'm always eager to share the joy of climbing! @Tim Thanks! It is an amazing feeling to send a project you've been working on!

@BeauxS You dont need that much upper body strength in the beginning. You're really suppose to use your legs more all the time. Only in specific things like overhangs, etc... do you need strength in your upper body. A straight climb up is more legs and balance for me.

This is definitely not easy! Glad you posted this, a good reminder of where I would like to get to again. So great for getting all muscles etc. working together. Major workout! I could never do a free climb, falling is fun until that abrupt stop at the bottom 🤣 Hello Groot😃

Very cool! My 14 year old son wants to get into climbing. I wish I could join him. Maybe one day.

@livin I guess I never think of climbing as easy or not. Just challenging and feeds my need to succeed and feel strong. I’m always impressed by the climbers who make it look easy or pretty - like ballet on the wall. It’s amazing to watch.
