Mom, quick critter update. One more coon trapped and one more mouse. Have to reset mouse traps, one more mouse caught. Guys are cleaning out the attic insulation, they are hoping to do the 1st round of sanitizing tomorrow, my garage is full of bags of insulation and stuff the coons have destroyed. It will be hauled off tomorrow.

Not much for exercise or anything today. Overtime at work today. Stopped to get coffee as almost out and bananas for smoothies on the way home, wanted to talk to the guys if I could catch them. Did so. Have to enter recipies to log my food today, probably will go back and update tomorrow.

Dang will be glad when this stuff is all done and my life gets back to a dull roar, and I can get back to a schedule for exercise etc

I want time to go to the gym. Not today, have to come home to my attic work. See what needs to be tossed and what kept. They are bring a trailer back today to haul all this stuff away. My garage has 20+ huge contractor sized bags of crud and more to go.

Are these live traps? I have a cat who would love to help you with the mouse problem. If we have a mouse she will sit and stare at the wall for days waiting for it to come out. Then she will eat half and leave the butt on the rug for you to eat. Good kitty.

Defiantly good kitty, doing her job! I haven't convinced anyone nearby to loan me their kitty... Mouse traps are not live traps, the little cheapie old fashioned ones that work but a pain in the patootie to set. The coon traps they are setting are live traps and they haul the coos away in the traps. The guys have sanitized the attic. Hauled away the stuff in the garage. They will probably add the new insulation tomorrow or the next day and fix the entrance hole. Hopefully done with the coon damage and then they can do a couple other projects I can't do alone, like replace the front door, frame and all. Wheww!! I'm not doing the work but it's making me tired.

That raccoon looks cute, but all of them made a mess of your attic! Glad I saw your raccoon pic before you change it again. :)

Good to hear the raccoons are gone now. What a little nightmare you had. Hope you have seen the last of the mice. You had quite a few in there, didn't you? Maybe you can find how they got in and plug that hole up, as well. I know those little ones can get in the craziest places. I had a farmhouse and it was a seasonal thing to get rid of them. Those little cheapie mouse traps do work and you can just toss them. Sounds as if this little problem is about to all go away and very soon. :)

Coons are cute, from a distance and not in your house!!! I haven't been able to post photos due to a tablet that I couldn't get to copy and paste. My new laptop will be able to do that. We know how they were getting in, repaired the chimney and roof issue due to 60's crumbling siding, 2 days later they tore a hole through the soffit that has steel siding to get back in. The new hole will also be repaired this week, we needed to keep it open to catch the coons.

seeing it all come to an end will be your day to celebrate for sure. :) It's been a long process, hasn't it?

not there yet, coon traps are still there, attic will be re-insulated and still things to get out of there and sanitize/ scrub down. Then a few other projects to have completed the rest of the faux chimney resided and the front door replace. Then I'm back to doing the painting etc on my own. It will be a relief to finally have this critter issue resolved.

WE had racoons in our attic once...a total pain!

I Watched "Animal Planet", and on this particular episode, the coons ate through the entire ceiling! I hope that you don't have this kind problem! Yikes!~Ann

No Ann, just an attic that is now cleaned out, no major damage inside just on the outside that I know of. I know there are chew marks on the rafters here and there. My attic isn't very tall so you have to crawl so. I cannot get too far from the garage drop down access. I cannot crawl. HC so sorry you had the same issue.
