Asarver's Journal, 06 Aug 22

good morning friends :-)

My foot has been feeling pretty good lately! I'm hoping that the pain will be completely gone in a month, but I don't know if that's too optimistic.

I'm still running 3x a week, today I did a 6 mile run. Next week I'll up it to 4 and see how it goes. Did a quick 40 min bike ride and a swim this week, too.

My SIL and I are signed up for a half on the 20th, and I feel exhausted thinking about it. I signed up for too many races this year, it's worn me out. I am signed up for a half in October where I'd love to get under 2 hours. My next after that will be Feb, so a nice long break between the two!

Eating has been pretty under control this week, too. Now if I can just fix my sleeping schedule. 🙃

Sometimes when a person over trains, it can impact sleep quality. I have a OURA Ring which is a tracker like a fitbit only as a ring. It has a cool feature where it takes in to account your sleep, heart rate, etc. to give a readiness number each day - then we know when the body needs lighter day so we don't get exhausted in exercise.

Oh that sounds really cool, HCB! Garmin has something like that on the newer watches (not mine). I've just been going to bed too late and waking up too early, I need to force myself to wind down earlier, but hubby is a nite owl so it's when we hang out 😆

Yes! I have an oura ring and it does measure HRV in addition to heart rate, sleep, readiness, blood oxygen, and a few other things. I love it - more comfortable than wearing a wrist monitor
