*Side Note* Putting this here to remind myself:

I started this journey mainly for my health. I, indeed hated the way I looked, the way I felt, how my clothes fit (or didn't) my heart was in physical pain almost constantly... and at 43 after being roughly 100 lbs my whole life suddenly I'd doubled in size and had high cholesterol.

I started in 2021 and worked my bum off with little to no reward. I think I lost 10lbs then gained n lost another 5 until I gave up 6 months later. March of 2022 I gave it another go and have been making slow and steady progress most of the time since.

SOMEHOW... in the last 2ish -3 weeks I think the loss of a few pounds got to my head and I started eating very poorly again. I went from eating 95% whole foods to fried chicken ice cream and I'm not kidding Mc Donald's like 3xs now. I HATE THAT PLACE...

the WORST THING.. for the last week it's been on my mind I need to call and find out when my recheck with the doc is I know it's got to becoming up. Low and behold I have an appointment in 2 days.

So I'm KINDA pissed at myself. I could of potentially flushed 3 months of hard work down the drain in 2 weeks.

I think it's time to get tough with myself and remind myself daily if that's what it takes that I love my kids more than fried food. I LOVE MY KIDS MORE THAN FRIED FOOD🤣

Oh my... Lord help me. Tomorrow I'm back at it. At least now I've got a fridge I can fill with good healthy things again. Actually I think when it went out that was where I started going downhill.

Remember, you are tough. You've got this! & it's totally worth it.

Hope it turns out better than what you think with your doctor visit. I like to plan, track and enjoy my treats. They seem to taste better too! Maybe plan what you want and how often ahead of time. It may keep you on track better having something to look forward to. We all fall down but as long as we get back up as soon as possible is the best we can do!:)🤗

Whatever our journeys are, we all have ups and downs. Get serious for your healthy sake and know you have support! I am at my goal but keep messing up and having to start over. I'm terrified of failing...

I think most of us can relate. We want to eat healthy but it's really hard today in this environment where time is at a premium and so many temptations are around every corner. Being compliant 24/7 can be exhausting. I sometimes feel like my entire life revolves around work and dieting. It is dieting too, no matter what spin anyone puts on it. Weight loss and healthy eating almost always mean less calories, more movement, less focus on creamy, salty, sugary comfort foods. A little tip from a nurse you can make triglycerides better by what you ate at your last meal before your labs are drawn. So make it low carb. That way it won't be all bad news if it even is. You have lost weight and that helps a bunch. I know. My labs were horrible and after losing 52 pounds they are much better. Not perfect but greatly improved. My story is like yours. Thin most of my life until age 46 when I went into menopause and ballooned up. We are tough and we are doing it.

Good news is that you want to be healthy more than you want the instant gratification of fast food. I love a fridge full of great ingredients and a colorful fruit bowl on the countertop. It brings out my creative chef side like an artist with a new set of paints and stencils. I don't think about pre-made stuff when I've got a stocked fridge. Have fun at the market! 🌶️🍒🥑🧄🍆🍎

Don't beat yourself up, slips are just that, slips. Continue stressing that you made progress for a good while and that is big. Going forward, if you can make a food plan that keeps your calorie intake below your calorie burn (i.e., what you enjoy eating : how you live, sleep, and exercise), then you will be able to sustain a weight-loss plan. Log and monitor the numbers and enjoy your food and your being alive. Toughing it out is a plan for failure. No one should want to deprive themselves forever. So find a way ti include an occasional McD, a pizza, or chocolate cake if it will keep you going.

As long as you want to be healthy, you will be 😉 Here is my secret.. I’m telling myself once I reach my goal, I will have 1~2 days per week for junky food (as long as I’m maintaining my current weight) Maybe this can push you a little more Good luck with your healthy journey 👍
