p$m's Journal, 27 Jun 22

It's Monday and frustrating still with the numbers going up. I've tried eating only before 6pm for 2 weeks now thinking I'll be fasting for at least 12-13hrs. I would be eating only in the window of 7am - 6pm but it seems that its now working for me. Maybe I should try eating only in an 8hr window. That would mean I eat from 7am - 3pm. I wonder if that's do-able.

Last week, I tried cutting out all breads and pasta which wasn't too hard since I normally don't eat that anymore. I did breakdown yesterday and had 2 cookies after my hike. I also found some healthy noodle which had little carbs since it's made with soybean powder. It was ok. It's precooked so it was pretty soft in texture and I normally like pasta firm. I probably wont buy it again. I'd rather have zoodles.

This week I will try to eliminate my sweets. Fingers crossed. If the numbers still don't go down after this week, I'll try the 8hr window for eating.

I do the opposite hours..... I eat from 2pm -8pm. It allows me to have dinner with the hubby! I don't usually get too hungry in the morning. It gets a little tougher as I get closer to 12noon. I will chew sugarless gum as needed. The morning hours are for me to get in my water ..... 3 liters by noon (or 2pm) Another liter and a half by end of day... Best of luck!!! ☘️

Try to build habits slowly. Start with a 13 hour fast for a week. Then 14. Then 15. Etc. slowly building habits = maintaining the weight for life.

Thanks fgt. I’ll try it. And you’re right I gotta maintain it too. I need to get use to my new metabolism/ body function. It’s like puberty all over again. I use to be able to lose quickly then go back to normal eating. But apparently now it won’t work that way.

Have you had the “noodles” made from hearts of palm called Palmini?

I tried the low carb and fasting. Didn’t work for me well. I have stuck to counting calories and track in app. That has worked wonders and I am losing again!! (I walk 30 minutes and the. Weight train for 10). Good luck!

There is always a diet that is compatible with your body. The most important thing in weight loss is to "lose weight as slowly as possible. It is surprisingly common for weight to stagnate or even increase somewhat for a few days. I personally think it's also important not to 'worry too much about the weight number. I think the weight is 'a guide to determine current muscle mass. When you finally achieve your ideal body silhouette, you may weigh more than you do now.✨ ▽<|b✨

it's all about caloric intake. you must run a calorie deficit daily and consistently to lose weight. exercise helps. fasting or giving up sweets isn't going to help. you have to weigh and measure your diet and no cheating

@rock - For me removing sweets and fasting reduces my caloric intake.y actual meals are low in calories since I’m really not a big fan of food food. I’m happy with salad. Also I tend to snack I. The evening and end up binging so fasting will give me time range of when I should or shouldn’t eat. I also find my body now tends to not burn evening calories like before. I can eat the same thing in the afternoon and maintain my weight and then eat it i the evening and see gains. This change is fairly new to me. It started when I turned 50.
