I have tennis elbow. That's my dx based on googling. I have been trying to take it easy for 2-3 weeks. Some exercises I can do without issues and others I cannot. It is affecting my bicep curls and some back stuff. :( Face pulls are no good. Yesterday it felt almost 100% and I should have left it alone, but I pressed my luck. It was a crappy workout. Only about 40 minutes because of trying to work around the right elbow/forearm issue. And also because this guy I hate was there and wherever I am, he seems to appear 12 inches away (also known as a foot) regardless of how many machines and stations there are. I know it likely is not intentional but I have it in my mind that it is and once someone sickens me- it is forever. Aside from invading my personal space- he once "trained" this woman by straddling the bench behind her and cupping her elbows for shoulder presses with his gross penis/groin pressed against her lower back. It had all the makings of a terrible porn. (are any NOT terrible?) And another time he was in the back room with this other woman who was laying on her side doing some kinda leg lifts while he was rubbing and pressing her glutes. Truly disgusting. Even though he wasn't "training" anyone yesterday, he grunted loudly while doing triceps. And I mean 'through my earbuds' kind of loud. I am all for noise at the gym at a regular decibel that is consistent with the amount of effort but this was ridiculous. There he was on my right. To my left was a tall, muscular, bearded, tattooed, STINKY white guy. His BO permeated my nostrils and of course he had to start his routine with wide grip pull downs. Still, I persevered for 43 minutes- not counting the warm up. Then I walked for 45 minutes with my kids. We saw nothing exciting and right at the end when I was comparing in my mind to how completely uneventful it was compared to the previous night, we saw three raccoons- a mom and 2 babies. I supposed it could have been the dad- but that seems unlikely. Today- like the last several Saturdays- mowing and cleaning and I think a little shopping is in order.

Diana- LOL!! These days when someone is talking to himself- they actually are on a call. That's too funny- and scary. I never hear anyone at the gym. It is strictly hand signals about whether or not someone is using something. :)

Chris- Interestingly enough (or maybe only to me). I can't do rows if I am pulling up- but I can do pulldowns and seated rows and whether my palm is facing vertically - like going in for a handshake- makes all the difference in the world. It kills me to pick up my water bottle (doesn't help that it holds 40 oz) but I can do other things- like shoulder presses- without issues.

Thanks everyone- for suggestions and well wishes. Maybe by the end of this ordeal- my left arm will look as good as my right and catch up a bit. 💪🤷‍♀️

They make elbow compression sleeves you might use until it's back to strength

You are a riot, girl!! You do know how to paint a picture with words... Something I could pass on seeing! Have a great and productive day. I'll reply to your wonderful, long and newsy email soon. And Chris is is right, he is the only one who reads bios, but everyone should read yours! Hahaha! 😂 Love it! I hope your arm is better soon, mine as you know is suffering too from some repetitive stress thing going on. It is so frustrating... Love that you saw the racoons! Special moment with your girls!!!

Damn what a creep! You don’t seem like the timid type, tell him to back the f*ck off! And tenis elbow sucksssss Dealt with it for months until my coworker showed me how to massage it. Lay a towel over your forearm and roll a frozen water bottle firmly (very painful) back and forth over the area a few times a day. Got mine from lifting cast iron sheet pans into the griller with only 1 hand. Not smart.

DP, yes, hilarious! Both this post and your bio. 😁 I had tennis elbow a while back, from carrying and lifting my granddaughter. It was so limiting! 😟 I hope you heal fast and you're back to your full workout routine without any pain. Creeps at the gym, yikes! 😒

If your tennis elbow will not get better (and it won’t if you continue to be active), go see an ortho doctor. About 5 years ago, I got a cortisone injection (maybe twice in a 6 month span). Instant relief, and takes the inflammation down. With physiotherapy, my tennis elbow is gone!
