Ugh! I don't understand myself. Why do I eat when I'm not hungry!! I keep looking for that "full" feeling in my stomach even when I'm not hungry. So I eat. Worse is the only thing that really makes me feel "full" is bread or pasta.

When I eat protein/ meat I don't feel "full" but I am also not hungry so I feel the need to eat so I can "feel full". Is this normal? Why is my body confusing me?!

Sorry I know I'm ranting...There's a lot of "feelings" in this post. I'm guessing it all not what is actually happening and I need to understand the difference. Anyone have a cheat sheet on it?

@kenna - thanks. I never thought of that. I’ll have to see if my therapist can help me with it. Or find a new one cause whenever o talk weight I can tell she doesn’t really pay attention since I don’t look overweight.

I know with myself, if I do not eat the food I am craving, then I will keep eating everything in sight. I have learned that it may be best to eat 200 calories of ice cream or I will eat 800 calories of healthy food. so maybe have that pasta you want. There are also higher protein versions (everything in moderation). I also have a chart that says if you are craving bread and pasta, then you need nitrogen. You can get this from fatty fish, nuts and meat. but I know you said the proteins do not fill you up and these are all high in calories, so have some pasta :) I am Italian. . . Mangia!

Look up LEPTIN and GHRELIN RESISTANCE. They are the 2 hunger hormones. If you never feel full, eat all the time...then it's a sure bet you're resistant to these 2 controllers. I know, I was you 5 years ago. Long term fasting (48-91 hours), intermittent fasting, OMAD, and keto fixed everything. And when it did, I realized that I never had truly felt real hunger. Now I do. I eat 1 or sometimes 2 meals a day. I stay at 1000 calories daily. And I only eat when I feel that true hunger. So check out those 2 hormones and read up.

Also, I never have food cravings anymore. And I am Type 2 diabetic. But with the life changes I made, I have been off all diabetes meds for 4 1/2 years, I 24 hour fast every week, long fast monthly. I never eat before 3pm, just tea or coffee, but if I'm not hungry I don't eat. When u get your LEPTIN- GHRELIN situation sorted, you'll see. Good luck!
