KayBuckaroo's Journal, 21 Mar 22

Got a good thing going with my WOE and I’m seeing 5# loss this last week. Not going to SAY too much about it as to not trigger my own self sabotage (it’s really a thing!) Everyone here is recovering after lots of meds, and I’m keeping mister 2nd grade Petri dish 🧫 home to get everyone back to health, before he brings home the next round of disease 🦠 😆 typically I would have wrecked my woe for the time I was sick bc I often eat compulsively when I don’t feel well. But I’m digging way down here for my strength and I got through it with acceptance that I’m sick and the challenge of feeling unwell. Last I checked Twinkies are not penicillin but you know, somewhere along the lines I got the two mixed up. Food has always been my companion and no matter what if I’m uncomfortable I have used it to soothe myself. I am relying a lot more lately on my heating pads, self massage, exercise and sleep rather than eating to provide self-care comfort. I believe also in rewarding ones for hard work and so I have ordered myself a three. 5 hp motored treadmill for you at home. It is not a major brand so I’m unsure at the quality, but I spent about $1200 on it so hopefully it is going to stand up to my heavy heel strike. As soon as I get it pictures will be posted! Have a fabulous week everyone, be kind to yourself and one another 🎁

So glad the family is feeling better. And you are doing so well with your eating plan. I'm still struggling to get back on mine, but you are inspiring me. Well done!

Shir I just got to the point where I collectively understand that I am sabotaging myself so I was like I wonder what it would feel like if I just kept on stringing success together day by day and didn’t have a major setback my usual one week in? And so far that mindset is working. And I’m knocking on wood. Your beautiful attitude and funny demeanor inspire me. And I am telling you now Sister Sue, we are in this together me and you.

Shoot, girl. $1200 should get you a decent machine.

Glad you and the Twinkies are doing better. Just curious if you've tried transitioning their eating plan into your own? I know of some parents that have SLOWLY altered their families eating habits into a reflection of their own healthy eating plan. It was done steadily over a long period of time and not something they discussed with their families, but just did as they are the primary cooks in their households. The families for the most part never even noticed their diets had been changed until there was a holiday or company visiting that brought attention to it. Just a suggestion to make your self-care a little easier. Try just one thing a day (apple slices instead of chips for instance) as slow change meets with less resistance. Fingers crossed on that Treadmill and continued self-care comfort!

Damn, Kay!! You're positivity and upbeatness is absolutely contagious!! I always feel better just reading your posts!! I literally count on you in my weight loss journey!! You should have fun with your treadmill...my treadmill's name is Jane and we have the best of times together every day of the week for 45 minutes crying and laughing over all of my issues. Yeah my treadmill is pretty much my best friend where I go to rant abt my crush's girlfriend and my blob🤣

Oh cool!!! I’ve been thinking of a treadmill too. I just don’t want it to turn into my Pilates machine and collect dust. I’m at work almost 12 hours daily and figure 10 mins here and there could add up, I can relate, food is my drug, comfort, friend, and in the end we need it so can’t ignore it forever. Good luck and enjoy treadmill
