Wishing you all a very Merry Monday 👋

Letty's Strength Training Zoom class was awesome (as always!) so of course, I have exercise on my mind. I don't think it's absolutely necessary to exercise in order to lose weight...but moving our bodies sure has benefits! Personally, I exercise to build strength, balance & stamina as well as burn extra calories to help with the CICO equation. Plus ~ it just makes me feel better!

Monday is also my 'Measurements' day. Though the scale is stalled right now, I am encouraged by other non-scale progress! So, here goes: (measurements this morning compared to 3 weeks ago)
Neck= loss of 1/4"
Chest= loss of 1 1/2" (mostly 'back-fat')
Waist= loss of 1/2"
Hips= loss of 2" (YAY!!)
Biceps= gain of 1/4" each side (thanks to lifting light weights)

I don't go to the gym but I have been consistent with at home exercise & counting my steps. I've worked my way up to 3 lb wts for the 'strength' days...but realized this morning, that I need to look for 5 pounders soon 💪 Puny to some, but hugely successful with my physical challenges😁

Please don't misunderstand me...I don't post this to boast or 'browbeat' anyone into exercising! I post this to offer ENCOURAGEMENT to those who may think that exercise is too much for them at their age, or with their disabilities. I'm 66, was using a walker up till a few months ago with multiple health issues. If I can do it...believe me...SO CAN YOU! 👍💙

Your exactly right Crystaljo, if you can exercise or move your body than anyone can because now you don't have to use your walker if you don't want to, and I'm sure you have it parked in the corner somewhere. Happy Monday my friend!!!!!

@FireQueen...YES!! ANY increase in exercise/moving is gonna help you to get stronger. Are you writing it down, when you do the small things? It's so helpful to have a log of what you accomplish and then see how much you improve over time. 👏💪👍

Thanks for the inspiration! I’m starting to feel my age and parts break down but it’s alway great to hear someone doing better than before.

Congratulations on your progress! I like that you posted the measurements and your journey. I think it's awesome! Love the fitness chart and the emphasis on health and well-being as primary and weight loss as secondary.

Your post is VERY inspiring! From a walker to lifting weights, I think that's fantastic! 3lb is a great start, & dont let anyone tell you it's puny! 💪🏼 I start "weight" training just moving my arms up & down, no weights! lol & I know it's ridiculous but then I'll feel it the next day. (Fibromyalgia sucks!) You have to go at your own pace & know how your body will react. Slow & steady is best, & clearly working with the results you're getting. Congrats!
