Bionici's Journal, 18 Feb 22

WHEW !!! Really good bike ride today. 93 Minutes and 25.7 Miles. It's not a record, but the legs and heart were getting a good workout. Having dropped another 1.5 pounds, the body is on its way to recovering after the Superbowl week and too much food. Four of those extra pounds are gone, and there are another 3-4 to go before getting back to where I was. Then it's on to dropping another 8-10 pounds to be at the weight at which I want to stay. Hope all of you are having a beautiful February day and enjoy being on the journey to being in shape. God is good !!

CrystalJo, thank you. Although the Fat Secret chart does not show it, I started this journey in Nov 2018 when I came to the conclusion "enough is enough". I had ballooned up to 300 pounds. I've always been athletic, but had let my body get badly out of shape due to overeating and lack of exercise. I dropped 129 pounds and got to 171 in October of last year. I was riding my bike about 90 minutes per day at about a 15 MPH clip, playing golf, and doing some weight training. However, I had to eliminate the weights since it caused a hernia to form. I try to ride between 23 - 26 miles 5 - 6 days a week on my recumbent bike at a moderate tension. I also do some stretching and yard work. My wife and I eat, for the most part, a very healthy diet and always have. Holidays, out-of-town visits, and special occasions (like the Superbowl) are hard on my diet, since many of the meals are high fat, high salt type meals. When I got to 171 my spouse told me I was "too skinny". When Thanksgiving and Christmas came, I gained about 20 pounds, and then have tried to moderate my weight between 180 - 190 pounds. I'm current 191, but will come down to about 180 in the spring and summer because I am much more active in those months. Thank you for your encouragement. I sincerely hope that your journey will be successful.
