I really didn't want to go to the gym today. I have been suffering from a headache for almost a week now (I get them like this occasionally), emotionally still a little sad, and overall had the feeling of the wind being knocked out of my sails a bit.

But of course I did go, and of course I was glad I did and felt better afterwards. This is definitely the new me busting through the gates of purgatory that once held me in limbo; a short time ago I would have stayed in bed or found some lame excuse not to go. Not only did I go but I did extra time on the treadmill and hopped on the dreaded elliptical for a few minutes as well.

Unfortunately I still have a headache, and I know from many years of experience it will go away when it goes away, when I get them like this nothing gets rid of them, all I can do is to take meds that keep it down to a dull roar.

I want to take an extra walk with my dog Molly later on, and hit the gym again in the morning... tomorrow is my birthday and I plan on having a few of the things that I enjoy while still remaining faithful to my lifestyle plan.

I have told Erin on more than one occasion that even when I am not in session that I have her in my head, that little voice of reason and encouragement I have been so fortunate to have received. In time, this will be replaced with my own voice that will speak with greater wisdom and confidence than it used to, but somewhere down deep in my mind she'll always be there.

It's going to be a good birthday.

Great job on pushing through with the workouts!! I hope your day is as beautiful as mine and you can enjoy the sunshine!! You're doing great and your puppy will appreciate the walk. I hope your headache goes away. I get them too and they are aweful. Just keep looking up!

Your dedication to your new lifestyle is evident in all that you do. You did a great job in going to the gym, especially as you didn't feel up to par. I am praying that your headache decides to take a hike for your birthday. Stay strong and keep the faith.

Nice job!! I think Erin WAS there to help you... but you will be ready to stand on your own... and you need to. You can do it! I also have a freind that was breifly in my life, but changed it dramatically. In her case, I don't really mind not seeing her anymore (lol) BUT, we were connected by the universe long enough to solve a big problem. I'm so grateful that there was some intervention out there... And that same force is telling you that you are strong enough by your own now! :)

Thank you MSL I hope it goes away too... I'm thinking that Guinness I plan to have tomorrow might help :O). It actually is a bit better tonight anyway. And also thank you Radiochick, I will need all the positive reinforcement I can get in the next few weeks as I begin to snip away the strings that join me to my wonderful clinician. I'm going to snip a few at a time, and when the final day comes I'll be ready. A big thank you to everyone, God bless y'all!
