Hipaagrammy's Journal, 17 Sep 14

**Warning** This journal entry will be boring to the extreme!

Today I'm feeling a little overwhelmed (my DS#6 always asks me "Have you ever felt just 'whelmed' instead of 'overwhelmed'?") I have a big group of family coming on Friday and I need to get the house and menu plan ready. This journal will work as a bit of a action list for today:

1. Strip 6 guest beds, wash linens, and remake beds.
2. Vacuum 4 guestrooms. Use carpet cleaner if necessary.
3. Clean basement guest bathroom and set out guest towels.
4. Clean upstairs guest bathroom and set out guest towels.
5. Bring up 3 queen size air mattresses and fill with air.
6. Set out bedding for the air mattresses (10 pillows and blankets).
7. Make menu plan and grocery list.
8. Ride exercise bike 1 hour.
9. Call Mom (it's been a week).

I'll keep Dorey in my head... ♪♥♪ just keep swimming ♪♥♪ just keep swimming ♪♥♪ just keep swimming, swimming, swimming... ♪♥♪
and I'll check back later with a progress report.

Why not turn the list, call Mum and ride exercise bike first so that you know you've done something for yourself first of all....if you don't and the other tasks take too long, you'll resent that you've not done what you want to do for yourself. I bet you'll get tasks 1-7 done if you have done 8&9 previously and you'll be happy about the fact x ENJOY your visitors!

Taking a few minute break while the washer and dryer do their thing on the bed linens. I've stripped all the beds and done two loads already. I've even made up one guest bed. I called my mom first (I thought it was a good idea - KellyM25) and I even made a couple of calls to schedule recall service on my Acadia - as well as checking prices on a new windshield since mine has a huge crack from a stone chip. I also made a pot of lentil soup to have on hand. I kept going in the kitchen for "tastes" which by now have accumulated to a bowlful of soup and now my stomach is rumbling and gurgling like crazy! I'm not hungry, and I don't feel sick...it just feels like my stomach is doing calisthenics tying to digest that soup. Weird! I think I'll start one more load of sheets and then ride my exercise bike. Maybe that will move my digestion along?

Okay, now ALL the sheets and blankets are washed. Two of the guestrooms are made up and I rode the exercise bike for one hour. I also washed the kitchen floor (not on the list but sorely needed), and talked to my little sister on the phone (not on the list but also sorely needed by her). I still need to do the downstairs guestrooms (4 beds) and clean the downstairs bathroom as well as make a menu plan and grocery list. What made me think I could get all this done in one day?
