TWO really heavy meals over the weekend, and one of them was at a Christmas party. Christmas heavy fat, carb buffet snacks are absolutely hard items to resist, and certainly thankful, this type of meal only comes a couple of times a year. And, Saturday night we had my wife's spinach / cheese / sausage pie for dinner. Two portions are approximately 600 calories. It's really good, but with everything else included, the meal is an expensive calorie meal. Pluse, I did not exercise on Sunday, so the calories I allow myself are right at 2000. I'm am restricting my intake today, and somewhat cleansing my body of the weekend's excess. Back to exercising today, and rode over 24 miles on my bike before lunch.

Great work keeping it in moderation and getting right back to it! That's what makes all the difference.

Thanks davidsprincess. It's a real necessity for me to get back to normal eating and activity the day after having a weekend of high-fat, high-calorie meals. My metabolism has slowed over the years, and I have to get enough exercise calories to keep the weight under control. FireQueen57, I eat eggs 3 times a week, so this would probably be an issue for me. What I like to do, as evidenced by my breakfast and lunch, is to drink Premium Protein or other similar drink for breakfast and lunch for a couple of days. In addition, I consume probably 100 - 120 oz of other liquid during the day. This flushes out the salt from the high-calorie meals. I did have some higher salt tonight in the Spinach Sausage Cheese pie, but by eating only 1700 calories, plus drinking the extra water today and tomorrow, and burning about 3500 today that will be OK. Thanks for everyone's encouragement. Just gotta get through the holidays, keep moving, and eat the right foods.
