It's a rainy spring day here in central Florida, boy we need the rain and I am so glad for it, all my hard work in the yard and garden will soon see results from it.

During my workout this morning I started thinking about complacency and apathy and how detrimental they have been to past weight loss attempts. I now look them right in the face and dare either to come anywhere NEAR me... I am loaded for bear so they best not mess with me!!!

It has been my fault to sit back and rest on my big fat as......... er I mean laurels after losing 30 or 40 pounds. And of course, bit by bit, snack by snack here comes Ms. Gainagain along with a bunch of her whiny kids and her husband Mr. Packiton.

I joke here but apathy and complacency are two serious stumbling blocks to continued progress in my weight loss plan and must be dealt with as if I were fighting for my own life... which I am.

I am circumventing both opponents by employing reminders to myself along the way. For instance, I have a dart board with a poster I made on the front of it saying things such as "don't quit!" "do extra reps" "no whining" "No slacking" and the like. And of course there's always my staunch facilitator that will hold my feet to the fire.

Awareness is a good part of the defense too, the more I acknowledge the presence the better I can deal with it.

There is a line from a song by Mumford & Sons that is on my mind:
"If only I had an enemy bigger than my apathy I could have won..."

Apathy itself is a huge enemy, and I WILL win.

Onward.

Thanks for giving me a laugh. I have a vivid image in my mind of Ms. Gainagain, her whiny offspring, and hubby Packiton. I mentally named two of the kids Iwanttostay and Dontmakemego. Perish the thought if you ever hear "We're baaaack"!

LOL!!! That's great... now that's one family that wayyyyy overstayed their welcome. I'm glad you got a laugh from it, sometimes this weight loss stuff can be so serious that we forget to have a sense of humor. GB
