I t's frustrating when the scale seems to get stuck for a while. Don't let it derail you, keep pushing forward and you'll blow right through it.

Stress is a biggie. I've just resumed walking in the morning before work, after a couple bouts of respiratory bugs, including pneumonia. I have a stressful job in a large financial company, the rest of my life is pretty mellow. Walking in the am seems to help my stress level to stay low all day. It seems to make my attitude switch to positive toward everything that happens during my day. My life had seemed to turn around before I ended up sick, and I had not associated part of that to my early am jump start until I went back to it this week. This journey of losing weight and getting fit has taken some unexpected turns.

Deep breathing helps. A quiet walk helps. Exercise helps. Easy for me to say I suppose. I am retired now but I remember stress and the neck tension, the racing mind, the sleeplessness, and the inability to concentrate. We all know that food and inactivity do not help. Breathe in for a count of 8. Clinch those fists and hold the breath for a count of 8. Breath out for a count of 8. I always imagined squeezing the stress factor to bits and then brushing it away. Any activity or strategy to manage that stress will help with the weight loss challenge. I hope this tip helps. Whatever works. Right?
