The (annoyingly perky 😝) trainer on my workout video last night said something that really hit me.
“Fitness is not about achieving a goal it’s about how you feel.”
I’ve been so goal oriented this whole journey and while I know it’s good to have targets for my weight and exercise, as I approach these goals I need to shift to thinking about how I will maintain this as a lifestyle.
For those of you that have reached your goal weight, how have you been able to maintain?

I noticed on someone‘s else’s post a while ago that they were “figuring out” their maintenance calories by adding 50/day each week to their weight-loss “allotment.” When they stopped losing weight, they had their weight maintenance kcal target.
I don’t think there was mention made of adjusting their exercise.

You can do a recalculation of your daily calorie here on Fatsecret. It will recalculate based on your new weight, exercise frequency and a goal to maintain your weight. I try to stick to that calorie intake. Whenever I exceed it, I do a little more exercise to ensure a deficit.
