mars2kids's Journal, 14 May 14

It's been busy this week and it's just going to keep being busy. Today is going to be the exception, at least at home. I'm looking forward to having a night off from school events or sports and getting a workout in when I get home.

Last night we had my daughter's choir concert and my son's baseball game, so we ate an early dinner and were out until around 10. I ate horribly yesterday evening because of rushing around. My hubby was wonderful enough to go grocery shopping for me over the weekend, but he didn't buy any granola bars or low cal snacky things that I usually get for a snack at the games, so I didn't have anything to munch on later and I ended up at the concession stand. All they had there was oversalted, buttered popcorn, super sugary candy, and packs of cookies. I opted for the cookies, shouldn't have had anything, but what's done is done. Stress eating, I need to learn to not to do it. Today I'm buying some low cal snacks to have on hand for those days.

No exercise yesterday either, but I'm going to get a run or a DVD in today after work. My joints are hurting today, so I have to keep my motivation up to get the workout in. My motivation has been waning lately because of being busy, but I figure even if I only get 2-3 workouts in a week it's better than 0. After next week I should have 3 nights a week at least to get workouts done, so I need to take advantage of that time.

Have a great Wednesday!!

I know what you mean. If it isn't on the list my husband doesn't get it. You can do the workout. Just think about how you feel afterwards and that will motivate you to start and once you start you know you won't quit. Sometimes you just have to go with what life throws at you. By the way, what's so stressful at your son's game that makes you want to eat? I would think it would be a relaxing way to enjoy a evening.

Kathy- I need to look at the games as a relaxing thing, but last night it was having to have the kids 2 different places that was stressing me. I am a worrier and once I find out we have 2 conflicting things at one time I start worrying. Then I am constantly thinking about the things I have to do, get dinner made early, get my daughter to the school by 530, find seats and save 2 extra, have my son to the field by 715 for pics, then get to the right field for his game at 8, pick up my daughter after her second concert at 830, take her home, get back to the game, and keep pitch count while I'm at the game. Really it's not that bad, I just have this thing in my head that makes me freak out and feel overly stressed. My hubby doesn't get it, but doesn't help because I put everything on the calendar and I have him and my kids constantly asking "when's this," and "when's that". But tonight, no where to be, so it's my night. A run if it's nice, a DVD if it's not, but at least an hour just for me so I can breathe.

Maybe no help from the hubby and kids needs to end. Two parents means twice as many people to do all the running. I love the fact that my husband just asks how he can help and without him I don't think I could do it all without losing my hair. Lol!

My hubby is a great help with doing housework and yardwork and things like that, and if I tell him to have the kids places he'll do it, but it seems like he can't remember anything. I'll tell him 50 times that my son's baseball game is at 6 and the night before and the day of he'll ask me again. I guess maybe it's not a memory problem so much as a listening problem. :) I think I'm going to start telling them all to look at the calendar and try to let go of some of that stress, make them more responsible to pay attention to when their events are.
