The other day I got a good workout hiking the rim of the Snake River Canyon and got to enjoy spectacular views of the Shoshone Falls as a bonus My hike was 3.5 miles in total, half of which was up a very steep hill. The other half was coming back down the same hill on the return trip. Of course I took a few pictures to share. Photo Captions: 1) This is the Shoshone Falls in Twin Falls, Idaho. They're considered the Niagara Falls of the west. They're huge and quite loud. If you'd like to hear them, I put a short video with audio on YouTube for you. ➡️ https://youtu.be/yCjsI_a94mQ 2) This is the Snake Canyon looking downstream from the falls. You older, wiser folks may remember when in 1974 Evel Knievel tried unsuccessfully to jump the Snake Canyon in a rocket. His jump site was just a couple miles further downstream from where I took this picture. 3) This is a closer view of the falls. 4) Here you can see one of several observation decks for viewing the falls. 5 & 6) There are also quite a few smaller waterfalls in other places coming off of the canyon walls. 7) These beautiful wild roses (Rosa woodsii) were everywhere along the canyon rim trail that I hiked.

I enjoyed the falls. They are cool. Unfortunately I was there later in the summer when they aren’t as grand.

Thanks for that recommendation, love2educate. I haven't been there, but I'll eventually check out out. We're leaving here today, but I'll be back. I've seen them base jumping from the Perrine Bridge. 😬 Crazy!!

Beautiful falls, something you never see living in the flat lands of the deep southeast. I have seen quite a few in Alaska, though nothing so spectacular. My favorite it the first one, with the long view, but I also love the wild roses. I've seen lots of those in Alaska too. I love seeing the beauty of nature through your eyes, thank you. 💛💚💜

dude I'm so jealous of your travels. these are such beautiful pics. I tried to explain to momma that if we live like we have to now we can live like we want to later. but alas fell on deaf ears. you've worked hard in life and this maintenance journey Lonnie enjoy it you've definitely earned it. appreciate you man.

It's just like my maintenance plan, Andrew. If I make sacrifices and stick to my plan early in the week, by the weekend I can have whatever I want. Financial sacrifices early in life (bringing your lunch to work instead of eating out, saving money, clipping coupons, driving a smaller car, making sound investments, etc.) means you can eventually stop going to work everyday and really start enjoying life. I really hated going to work everyday, so I had to remedy that. There's so much more to do in life that's really enjoyable. I'm sorry momma don't get that. She may regret not listening to you when she's 70 and still working everyday.
