You have every right to be proud of your three-day streak! As for the cake at the party, who can blame you for having cake at your granddaughter's birthday? Not me! I feel that anything you can do to make special occasions healthier is a WIN! I watch people eat 4-5 pieces each, easily, then have other appetizers, alcoholic beverages, dessert, you name it. Easily taking in 1500 calories in one sitting. By eating at home ahead of time, you are controlling the situation. I am going to an "Employee Appreciation Pizza Party" on Monday night and I plan to eat a bunch of spinach ahead of time and only have two small pieces of pizza. No soda, no high-calorie salad dressing, no alcohol, no dessert. Whatever works for each of us, we're getting better at functioning in ALL situations and that is a HUGE accomplishment!
