Moved up to 2-mile cardio walk this week (M/W/F). I am terrified of getting flabby and having loose skin once the weight falls off. I plan to strengthen and tone the entire year so that I can stave off the loose skin problem, if at all possible. Been checking out Zuzka Beginner Workouts <http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLC03rzhuAcCccIvv8nYNtE7WcI9i7rqPh> Her advanced level stuff is WAY above my current fitness level, but I think the beginner ones are an excellent start and she gives very specifice verbal and visible instructions. She uses 1-lb pilates balls but I will sub with 15 oz canned vegetables until I order the balls. This will be my T/Th routine (coupled with a shorter 1-mile walk) and I'm looking forward to it! Anybody had any success with it?

Don't worry about loose skin :) It's much better to be a healthy weight and have loose skin than the opposite. There are ways (natural or evasive) to get rid of loose skin when the time comes, if you get it and if it bothers you. I have loose skin, but I recently found a natural remedy for it that has great results for most people that I'll be trying soon and I can't wait! The slower you lose the weight and exercise during, the less loose skin you will have, because the skin will have a chance to retract back. Most people who lose over 100 lbs (myself included) have some loose skin. My husband lost 75 lbs and has no loose skin or stretchmarks. I hate him ;)

Is that the one with all the youtube videos? She amazingly fit if so. Good going on your walk.

ChristyLA, you are so funny! My husband has just started the food/exercise plan and I KNOW he's going to outpace me (being male and all). I hate him too :o) Madanjen, yes, it's the youtube girl (she used to be on BodyTalk, or something like that, and struck out on her own). Amazing body but not too muscular...really feminine, which is what I'm going for. The beginner workouts is not all the jumping and hopping around but lots of stretching, floor work and very low impact. <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veiMp84fvKY> I joined her website too.
