RubyRedSox's Journal, 20 Jan 11

Well, I FINALLY managed to get out of bed at 11a.m. Even then I had to seriously work at it. I really could sleep soundly all day but I really hate doing that and people wonder why coffee is my good friend??? It peps me up a bit and this time of year, it keeps me warm too. Ah.. we all have our little vices....<smile>

Fibro sucks, I gotta tell ya. It's not just the pain but the incredible exhaustion for me. So when I have a good day or even a string of a few good days, I'm usually extactic. It's like riding a rollercoaster, up and down and back around and then finally the rollercoaster pauses long enough for you to catch a breath. Though I must say that in many ways I'm much much better than I was last year. Last winter (which includes all the cold months of other seasons) I spent the whole time in bed totally unable to make my body work properly. I just couldn't cope at all. So along with coffee, warm weather is my bestest friend;)

As for my improvement I know it's a combination of several things. 1; I changed my eating habits and food choices, 2; I'm losing all that deadly weight I've been carrying around. 3. I've finally found positive and healthy environment right here on this site which may well be the biggest catalyst to my total wellbeing and I thank each and every one of you! And 4, and most importantly, I've changed the way I formally thought!

For anthing to change I first had to change my mind about what I was thinking, what I was eating and what I was doing. I have learned that it's not my doctors, not my family or my friends who can give me the quality of life I want. Nor can they they take it from me without my permission. It all boils down to being my own responsibility, no one elses.

To all of my FS friends, I wish you all the best!!

To our defense Stef, we didn't have as much information we could put our teeth in when we grew up. Most of it was all the standardized government gumbo. Here it is the "information age" with the internet which has seriously improved my ability to do my own research and apply what makes sense and what works to my own life. What a difference this is from the standard infomercials lol. {{{{HUGS}}}}

Hi Ruby, I realize that it is up to me how I will feel and it is no one's responsibility. May you find the strength to do what you can do to live the quality life you want because you are worth the effort. I understand your pain and exhaustion from it makes your challenge harder then it is for me or others but breaking through barriers perhaps you'll find you are having more good days then bad:) With Love, Lisa...Towanda!!!

Off the jump, I will say upfront, I know nothing about Fibro or what you are going through. But you have the mental clarity to be aware of your choices, you are strengthening your long term success by continually educating yourself, and you are CHANGING that which you CAN change to help you become a more healthy individual! Very inspiring in the face of something that used to hold you back! Great Job!!
