Back to the gym today. I've done cardio the last two days at home. It was fun but not enough. My daughters decided they were going to exercise with me...15&12- both were disgusted how much more easily I could follow the program and how much less winded I was. 46 year old mom in better shape. Gave me a ridiculous /inaccurate amount of steps in a short period of time but I worked up a sweat eventually and it was fun. May incorporate it in addition to the gym...Definitely not in place of. More as a last resort to not sitting on the couch all night.

Fritzy22: Housework, laundry, litter boxes is a daily routine for me if not weekly. That burns many calories and it doesn't even get any credit for it. It's more tiring than working out. Katsolo: Doesn't working out close to bedtime interrupt your sleep? I try to get my workouts in before 8 p.m. I get to bed anywhere between 10 & 1 in the evening/morning. I'm glad it is working for you. David'sprincess: After being a body-builder/fitness/nutritionist/Aerobic/Aqua Instructor/Trainer, I rather enjoy working out at home. I used to have an entire home gym until I sold it all in 2009. Now, I use bands, 10 lb dumbells, and my own body-weight to do my cardio. I realized that cardio is more important than any workout I could possibly get into. Anyways, when my, then, doctor told me, in my late 40's to stop lifting heavy-weights, for my health, I stopped it. I did, however, compete once in a bench-pressing competition and received a first-place trophy that my first-born son is the proud owner of. I just wanted to prove to myself that I could bench my own weight: 150 lbs. back then. I'm happy and proud to have been able to work with such a diverse variety of individuals in the 1/2 of my lifetime that I did in the 3 gyms I worked in from 1993-2008. I am very comfortable working out @home, in front of the t.v., in the living room, with my own beat(s) within my heart/head while I pound out my warm-up, cardio/aerobic, cool-down /ab-work/floor work. I do take my pulse to make sure it gets up to, at least, 120 bpm or a little more when I get more wild about the beat(s) in my heart/head. Home is where my heart is now. I've seen/heard/been around too much, in the gyms, sauna's, pools, jacuuzi's, etc. to know that I am safer and happier at home. Take care and enjoy your workouts always. :)

Becca- I love that story! 😁 That's awesome! LOL- Laughing. My youngest was outside shoveling and someone drove by and called her by my name because they couldn't see her face and she wanted to die last week.

Fritzy- motivation has little to do with it for me. If I waited to be motivated- it just wouldn't happen. Do what you can do!

Thanks, Tom!! Thank you, Bearnoggin! Slow Meta- I dislike working out at home. Cardio at home as a last resort is one thing but lifting at home I realized when my gym closed that I just can't do it. It was a rough few months. I am so thankful that it has been open for quite a while again.

DP, that's so funny. 😄 Wait and see, I bet that daughter will be the one that will be the most like you as an adult. That's what happened with my rebel daughter. 💕

Becca- we are already too much alike- and fight a lot because of it. The one who acts like David is so easy going! Go figure! 💕

It's the same with our kids. The 2 that are more like Joe are very easy going and pretty much just go with the flow, but the 2 that are more like me, boy we've butted heads in the past, but we get along great now. In fact our youngest daughter is coming for a visit tomorrow. Some kids take longer to realize they have an awesome mother. 😁😉💕

Love that you compete with your daughters and outperform them at 46. At 46 I was playing tennis at least three days a week, never out of breath. You rock Princess!
