greetings from hot sunny Rio! managed to get a good internet connection since moving hotel and decided to log in and just write a journal. Sad to have to report an increase on the tape measure numbers before leaving for the trip. I would like to be in denial and blame water retention but i have been naughty with the caipirinhas and beers and nuts in the eve. Was doing pretty well except for a good intake of tropical fruit like mango, papaya, pineapple, strawberries, melon and acai berry. However I did not have bread, pasta or rice. It was scrambled eggs and streaky bacon for b'fast, fruit for lunch, special k bar for late afternoon and caipirinha/beer and nuts/pringles(small pack) for evening. I will log in my nike fuel cals burned in retro when i get back. I thought 2 days of full day trekking in the jungle going up 1021m and 917m would give me a fantastic cals burned number but looking at the activity chart, i burnt more cals on my 7km morning walk/run or dancing at a beach party on the sand than during trekking!surprise indeed! well keep well folks and catch up with my daily weigh ins when i see my Tanita again on the 5th Feb! (I am so shy to report my weigh in on that day! I must have gone up a trillion kgs!).

Good job on the bread, pasta etc... I think you will be surprised that you didn't do too bad. Lose the pringles, those are never good.
