I'm worried.

Here I am on day 5 of Atkins (Induction)and I simply do not have an appetite. I should rejoice, right?? Well, it's a strange thing here. I'm not hungry, yet I'm craving SOMETHING. Maybe something sweet? All this meat and cheese and stuff, and salads.. makes me miss something. I don't know what. I tried a slightly diluted lemonade crystal lite today; that was good. But something is amiss.

What I worry about is this:

I read that if you don't follow the plan exactly, you can stall your weight loss. If I don't all the food I"m supposed to, for example. I know I'm only eating MAYBE half of the foundation veggies I should be having; and 1 of 3 protein/meat servings I should have.

HOW CAN I EAT WITH NO APPETITE?

I did wake up this morning hungry. But I wanted cinammon roll oatmeal, not EGGS. But, I had my bacon and eggs like a good girl, and yes, it was good, but surprisingly I still craved or wanted, cereal or sweet oatmeal. Strange.

Will this feeling go away? Will I start enjoying food again?

What you are describing are literally withdrawals. You are withdrawing from sugar, flour, etc., and your body isn't quite sure what's up, so it's SCREAMING for it. It got so bad for me I swear I was hallucinating about those little red Swedish fish dancing before my eyes! ;) The bad news? It could be another week or so. The good news? It does decrease and subside! The REALLY good news? You're getting healthier, feeling better, and looking better too! Keep it up- you can do this! Good luck!

no worries :) be calm, just eat the food, deep breathing for 15 min before each meal also helps. Drinking warm herbal non-caff tea helps. Smile :) Give thanks for your meals :) Your body is doing a lot of internal changing, so be patient, nurture your body and your mind and spirit will help you along...make sure your bowels are staying regular; drink lots of good water throughout the day. You will succeed!

Thank you so much for your feedback. I'll try the deep breathing and now that I'm aware that what my body is craving and screaming for is CARBS (Duh,,, I should have KNOWN!), I will definitely hang in there. As long as I know what is going on here. Its almost a sick feeling! A queasiness almost. I spent last night looking up some induction menu ideas; if you have a fav or two, please ... let me know. Thanks again, I soo appreciate your comments/help!!
