Ingria's Journal, 19 Jan 14

We are trying to fix a few things in the house so we spent almost the whole day in Home Depot with a few trips back and forth, so my eating was somewhat disrupted. Got tired and ended up just eating out instead of going for a walk. Still think all this walking around the isles and heavy lifting had to burn some calories.

We are officially in state of emergency for the drought, so no landscaping and gardening for me this year. This is ironic, because one of the reasons we bought this house is for me to be able to experiment with plants a little bit more. The old one had a very small lot. The weather remains gorgeous, but nobody is happy. We are breaking all temperature records and there is still no rain. We will have water shortages soon, and it is affecting agriculture in the region as well.

I slept well tonight. I feel better than a week before. My energy levels are higher and I am in a better mood. To my surprise daily weight ins did not show significant weight gains. I was sure I would gain a lot of weight with all these potatoes I consumed. Hopefuly I do compensate by being more active during the day.

Time to get out of bed and face another warm and sunny day. Praying for some rain though.

I would gladly send you some of the precipitation we have been getting, mind you it would be snow, if I could. I knew that some where in the world has to be short of moisture as we been getting way more than our fair share since last summer. Where abouts are you located?

I am in California, and yes, it looks like all our rain just decided to migrate North this year, and is covering Canada with snow. The total volume of precipitation in the world did not change, but something is wrong with the distribution this year. The problem is that it only rains here in winter, and with winter almost over, we might not have any measurable rain till next November. Hopefully we will still have at least some rain in the next couple of months.
