Tough evening....

No I haven't strayed from plan. Maybe I will do some course work and that will help keep my mind off snacking. She sighs!!

Evenings are always the toughest for me ... I find that the busier I stay , the better. good Luck ! Also I tell myself over and over ... If I eat it I will have to log it ... I feel like the world can see my eating habits on here and I don't wanna have to log in a bunch of junk every evening therefore I don't eat it .

I agree with chryssm. I learned that just keeping busy or sipping water or green tea helps alot!! I have the same issues every now and then because my son is very hard to get to bed at a normal time. So i try not to eat after 6 so by the time I reach the A.M my stomach is in hunger mode lol.

I heard somewhere, dont know where that if you eat protein for breakfast that it's less likely that you will get the munchies at night

I eat mostly in front of the tv. I find that if I don't turn that damn thing on I don't eat and I get a lot more done around the house...I never munch through a bag of chips while reading a book. I also go to bed earlier to keep from eating. Last night 8pm...the cravings were killing me!

I really haven't had munchies at night. I get them around 2:30/3:00 and I have two celery sticks (all cut up). I run home, eat dinner (usually fish or chicken and some veggies), have two 5 oz glasses of wine and I'm good for the evening. I'm eventually going to cut the wine to one glass, then none (only have it on weekends). If you get the munchies, just make sure you have the "good" munchies available and ready.

You guys rock!!! Just reading your responses have kept me on track this evening. I am pecking away at school work and doing some other work on the Internet. I do plan to go to bed early if the hunger continues. Green tea sounds marvelous I actually love it, but do not have any in the house. Will have to put that on my list of items to pick up. I may try increasing my protein a bit and see if that helps the cravings also. I will try anything.. Thanks everyone!!! I enjoy reading everyone's messages :-) Jae :-)

I think all of us who have (had) a lot of weight to lose all experience what you are going through. For someone used to eating a....a lot, b...whenever they want, and c...whatever they want, then suddenly going to eating (comparatively) next to nothing in a regimented way its tough, the cravings set in and sometimes its all you can do to think about food - especially the bas stuff. All I can say is it does get better, and easier the more you 'face your demons'. You can do this, think of it as a test of your strength and character, sure the easy thing would be to give in, but does that define who you are? no it doesn't, you are strong, you can beat this, just keep thinking of how you will feel when you reach each of your goals and look back to how you are now, and how good will that feel? we are all with you in spirit.

Im glad you made it through the evening ... That's what we gotta do ... take this one day at a time, jumping new hurdles as we reach them . I know for me lately I find that I stay so busy that I don't even have time to sit in front of the tv and get the urge to munch. the last 2 nights I haven't sat down on the couch til like 9 o'clock. By then I'm so tired I know that I will be going to bed by 10 and its easier not to let myself eat anything. YOU CAN DO THIS. I am on week three and it seems to be getting easier everyday. I think a lot of it is habit. We just need to be strong and break the habit and our mind stops expecting it.
