DrSueM's Journal, 14 Dec 20

My 31 year old daughter went through Hazelden rehab for 3 mos and came home Nov 20th. She lives with us because she needs help with her 9yo daughter Rory who has nonverbal autism (Rory’s dad killed himself in 2017). We’ve raised Rory (since her mom was using) and I was excited to have help and for Rory to have someone else to hang out with - she’s miserable & bored because her district won’t allow students to return to school. It was going really well. Last night she relapsed & we had to make her leave (she let her supposedly ex-boyfriend who uses in the house last night so it’s a safety issue). It’s 20 degrees and I’m worried about her but we have to take care of Rory. I’m so devastated. Poor Rory. Any Christians out there, please feel free to add me to your prayers.

I'll keep your family in my prayers everyday. Most families have someone with a serious ongoing addiction including mine. Without ALANON/FAMILIES ANONYMOUS meetings the heartbreak, stress & fear would have driven me insane. I had to try a few different ones to find the right group. God bless you 🙏 💛

Life is so hard with people who have addiction. My cousin had a daughter that had six kids with different fathers and just had a life out of control. my cousin takes care of her kids and she lives in a different state so I never seen her grandkids. Yet, I do not know these kids but every single Christmas I send gifts to them, because it’s not their fault that their parents are flakes!!! I’m gonna make sure they have a nice Christmas! I’m so sorry you’re suffering the heartbreak that goes with loving your kid and hoping they’re OK when they’re not thinking logically because of addiction. Stay close to the Lord as He is mighty and can gift you a peaceful heart. ♥️♥️♥️
