velvetee's Journal, 16 Sep 20

Have been consistent again since last Thursday (with 1 rest day), taking it really slowly.

Trying to get enough protein, those caulipancakes are a pure blast!
1 small cup of grated cauli
1 egg
30g of collagen
20g of flaxseed and rice flour
Herbal salt
Coconut oil (cooking)

The word of the day: vehemence, applied at the gym.
Be well, the FStribe.

Also, I am looking for a specific kind of protein : dairy, soy, sweetener and gluten free. Utopia? So far, I still to collagen.

Spiralina? Even though it does not taste like a "protein powder" it's full of it. It does taste quite strong though... in case you try it!

Love your word for the day! Good luck with your protein powder search - I am in South Africa so wouldn't be much help. Hope you are well too!

now foods pea protein? look into it. tastes a little odd at first but I used it to make pancakes and put it in oatmeal and other things. it's all those things u listed I believe. and not horribly expensive. with shipping I paid about $20 for 2 pounds.

I use the unflavored stuff. just protein no fluff.

When it comes to protein I am partial to natural forms like steak, eggs and fish. However, the zero carb bread I found has 5 grams per slice. Great to see you and I love your word of the day!

Nikina, I'll have to order online anyway because here it's hard to find clean proteins even in organic shops... The word of the day made me smile. Yesterday, it was elucidate :)

One, thanks, looks like pea protein would be my holy grail. Unflavoured would be my preference as well. Following your suggestion, I found this brand that looks good https://www.nutrizing.co.uk/ and it's available on amazon.

John, me too, but sometimes it's not enough if I want to get up to 100g/day. Great to see you too!!!

OMgosh- guess it's too early for me. If I didn't finally see your shoe- I had no idea what I was looking at. 😁 And then I thought one point was mixing oatmeal, yogurt, cottage cheese and coffee... good bye.

I mix collagen powder with water for a quick protein drink in the morning. I haven't tried cooking with it. Do you taste it in your caulipancakes? I also just started making a 'pancake' from 1 egg, 2T plain oat bran, 1-1/2 t nonfat greek yogurt and a little salt or monk fruit plus cinnamon. From the Dukan plan. It is ok, but I was wondering about adding the scoop of collagen to it?

Dp I may just try that. All in all done lol. And I thought the same thing with the pic. Took me a minute. The bar in the center looks like the e-brake handle in our church van. Till I saw shoes.

One, they don't deliver here (but do deliver to the UK, go figure). But that was a great tip. I don't eat dairy/gluten anymore, I realised I was sensitive to both (no more bloated stomach yay). I put herbal salt everywhere, my fiancé (who is American) is crazy about it: https://www.avogel.fr/epicerie-salee/1047-779-herbamare-original.html#/7-contenance-500g it's really good! Organic and no bullshit (who needs glutamate or glucose in a f$$$$$ condiment?)

JMA, I add collagen to my smoothie in the morning as well. Honestly, these caulipancakes taste so good, I don't "feel" anything despite quite a bit of collagen there. Organic, dairy and gluten free. I tried without the rice flour, they fall into pieces but still taste good!

Hi there, if I could comment on your pancakes: not the best idea to use collagen in cooking. Collagen contains protein (we do need it!), that under high temperature changes the structure and does not absorb the same way it should losing some benefits we are taking it for. Cooking kills as well some aminoacids that are essential to our body... I take collagen daily also, but with water or sometimes with warm tea... Good luck!
