Didn't do blood glucose this morning, am down to approved 1 x a day test strips since I am not insulin dependent, so will check BS before lunch today, and then tomorrow before dinner and next day before bed, then back to fasting and rotate like that. Fasting and before meals have been running between 104 and 122 lately (the higher one when I had eaten sweets before bed on TG day)

Still have lots of left overs from TG but also have a half veggie, half meat meat loaf I baked last night. Carrots, peppers and onions plus lots of spices, but forgot to put in the steak sauce which I think was what was giving the last ones lots of flavor (It has lots of sodium) but don't use much...so will take some salt less tomato sauce and add a bit of steak sauce to it to use as a pour over addition, and still keep the flavor maybe!

Edema minimal at 12:30 p.m. and wt 191 on my scale with heavy clothing, so looks like is pretty stable. Didn't take any lasix today.

measured ankles left 9 inches, right 8 3/4, left calf 16 1/4 and right 16 1/8 inches--will use these measurements to assess swelling/edema in legs.

BS 92 before lunch! Lowest it has been since I started checking!!! WHOOPIE!!!!

Ate the same thing for supper that I did for lunch, but have a nice full feeling with less food than I used to do...David didn't care for the tomato sauce I made, said it tasted like "flavored ketchup" but I liked it and think it added flavor to the meatloaf. I'm getting used to the taste of food without a lot of salt now and even a little "naturally occuring" salt in a food tastes really salty to me.

I'm not obscessively counting sodium mg any more, but am eating mostly things that are low sodium naturally, meat and milk have natural sodium but veggies don't. Breads do and prepared foods do so back to cooking mostly from scratch. David is eating up the frozen meals I have stored and the boxed dinners until they are gone, then won't buy any more.

So far the weekend has been wonderful, spent time outside today in the sunshine. Son and I built a big bond fire to "burn off" a big batch of cast ironware I need to clean and "re-season" before selling it. Have a pick up truck load of dutch ovens and other cast iron ware we used in the living history cooking that I don't need any more. Was just nice to stand outside and poke the fire! Hope your weekend was also fun and good company!

Wow, my boys would love to join that bond fire! We're having a snowboarding vacation for 3 days here and going home tomorrow. Have a healthy low sodium Sunday!
