The hubby and I never made it to the Japanese restaurant. I found the menu online, and wow!! They were so expensive!!! We decided to wait and go in the spring, right after we get the income tax refund. We went to the new little Mexican restaurant instead. I'm so glad we did!! The food was out of this world!! The last time I had refried beans that good, I was in the Air Force and in Texas!! I tried to get aproximations of what I had to eat. I didn't go overboard, and the waitress recommended the special desert, but I passed.

I love fried Ice cream, but what she described was absolutely decadent!! And enough calories for the whole week!! Glad I passed!! Sitting here now, drinking water, and thinking about grabbing a serving of bacon rinds!! I do have room for them, calorie wise!! Oh well, enough about that.

I'm going to go to the gym 3 days this week, I hope to do that every week for the next few weeks, and try to get into a good routine. 2 days a week are just not enough. I can go the 3 days in the pool. I just can't afford to go more than that right now.

I hope everyone has had a great weekend!!

It sounds like things are going really well for you nutrition and fitness wise. Mexican food is really yummy, and doesn't have to be bad for you either. Glad to hear you had a nice dinner ! :)

I hit a Japanese restaurant for you tonight....UGH!!! I weigh in tomorrow and I believe the scale may just yell for me to get off of it. I did put in 3.5 miles tonight after I got home. I will call it my "guilt run". Haha. Good job on declining the fried ice cream. When you maintain your focus, it affirms that you are making conscientious life changes. I have faltered several times this week. But, tomorrow is a new day to start back on the right path.

Great job passing on the ice cream. When the day is done, and I am lying in bed, thinking, I am always so pleased that I made a right choice. Feels good. I have had such a crazy work schedule that I am struggling with time management. I need to sit down and pre-plan my work outs into my week and stick to it. When I just wait for a good time to do it, it does not seem to happen. Keep up the good work and successful choices. Hugs~

I love fried ice cream too. But it's better that sense of pride of saying "no" to something we would eat immediately before even knowing it's no good for us.

The first date my hubby took me on was to the local Mexican restaurant. We had seafood nachos for an appetizer and fried ice cream for dessert. I think we had fajitas for the main meal but that was forgettable compared to the other two things. Heavenly!!! Every time we went there after that, it didn't matter what the main meal was, we always had the seafood nachos and the fried ice cream. They were fantastic. It's been 22 years since then and they've closed now but it remains our favorite place to eat.
