Sandy701's Journal, 20 Sep 13

Feeling pretty much back to normal today. It took most of yesterday to get rid of the residual acheyness in my gut and the fog in my brain!

Because we didn't go yesterday, the dogs were MUCH in need of a walk today, so my Lab got 2.1 miles and the Collie guy got the full 3.1 miles. Heavy rain is expected tonight and is supposed to wash out the weekend, so I wanted to be sure the Collie got the full measure of an outing.

Pool heater was fixed but went ka-flewy this morning. It's misbehaving in a different way, so I have no clue what's going on. Yesterday's repair was expensive, but we thought it was buying us some time (a few months to as much as a couple years) to look at some alternatives. Obviously, we, and the contractor, thought it was buying us more than a day! We spent a whole lot of money for just a partial day's worth of performance! The contractor's going to come back out later this afternoon and we'll see what happens. DH and I have already agreed...no more money to be spent on this, unless it's a minor issue to be fixed.

While investigating the heater problem this morning, I did a few maintenance tasks for the pool - just to be sure nothing else was causing the heater to have a problem. All that's done and no change in the heater. But at least those "to-do's" got done.

Sorry to hear about you pool problems - maybe related to last weeks string of unlucky events? But at least you are recovering and the poor doggies got their walk in.

GG, they weren't able to fix the heater but they're going to refund everything except a modest labor charge. Can't fault them for that. It was pretty terrific that they told me right away that if it was the same problem, they'd refund my money. Very, very good customer service, IMO.

Bren, the walk did feel pretty good. The bounce was in my step again. I realized it had been missing for a couple days before the stomach cramps, so perhaps I had been fighting off a bug without realizing it. Hope the bug is now dead and gone!
