Down half a pound. I'll take it, considering my lack of discipline over the last week. The only thing that has kept my weight from escalating out of control is the fact that I have been very physically active around the homestead. Yesterday, I finished tying-in the downspout to the gutter (16 ft. up I might add). I had to have DW hold the downspout up against the brick wall while I climbed up and screwed it into the flange. I've got an electric scissor lift that I use to install lighting in the gym at about 27 feet, and that doesn't bother me too much, but climbing up this aluminum ladder, that really isn't rated for my weight, makes me a little timid. Got er done though, just in time, because we got an inch of rain last night, and I am sure I would have had some water in the basement if I hadn't got it done. Yay! The outdoor sump pump that I put in a couple weeks ago, on the other side of the building, also worked like a champ. I still have some sealing to do around the foundation though to make everything fairly waterproof. Other than that I stacked and moved about 1,000 pounds of bricks. I'm getting tired of moving these things around; I'm going to have to decide what I'm going to do with them. I've got another 3 or 4,000 pounds to move away from the school wall yet. Maybe I'll build little walls around the trees or something.

Finally decided that I am going to exercise some discipline and develop some healthy habits. I am back to working out in the mornings; I believe it is the best option for me. If things go as planned, I will sleep in until 4:00 AM on workdays, and do my devotions, my running, feeding the animals, breakfast and shower in order to get out the door at 6:30 for my 45 minute commute to work. It's pushing it, so if it doesn't work, I'll have to fall back to 3:00 or 3:30 AM. Saturday and Sunday, I'll sleep in until 6:00 AM and basically do the same thing, but I won't have the drive ahead of me.

In spite of the fact that I have been negligent in running in the evenings, I started back up where I left off, and hope I don't experience any of that lactic acid soreness. I ran for 7 min @ 5 mph, walked for 3 min @ 3 mph, and repeated that 3 times, with a warmup and cooldown period. I was actually and pleasantly surprised that I hadn't lost all my stamina.

Made it to work with 5 minutes to spare. :) Well, this is all probably a lot more than you want to know about my activities, so here's wishing everyone have a wonderful Friday and an even better weekend.

Toodles!

I had the right to remain silent, but I didn't have the ability.

I hear you. I thought I had a simple cistern to fill in, in the basement of one of our old brick homes. I dropped a 15 ft. tape leader down it and it found no bottom. Usually I have a solution. Still contemplating this one. It would sure take a long time to carry enough buckets of rock downstairs to fill it up. Not going to happen. I'm thinking dynamite.

Cistern is not as bad as I first thought. My tape measure must have kept floating up. I dropped a weight tied to twine, and found out it is a cistern and only 6 ft. deep. Not as bad as first indications.
