DairyKing's Journal, 06 Sep 13

Found out yesterday that DW had fallen asleep at the computer yesterday and fell over in the chair. No serious harm done, but I'm starting to get a little worried about her. She's not been feeling well, not sleeping well and having trouble keeping her balance. I made her make a doctor appointment, and she sees him Monday. Since she wasn't feeling well last night, I made supper. I fried up a pork chop with a little garlic powder, heated up a can of white corn and sliced up some tomatoes. Nothing real fancy, but we both seemed to think it was pretty tasty. At least, she ate it all.

Didn't run last night. In fact, I didn't do much of anything last night. I don't want that to become a habit, but sometimes, you've just got to chill. One of the big dogs has been chewing on his tail until it got raw. Must have had a flea or chigger or something. I put some balm on it, then gauze, and wrapped it with this tape that binds to itself without any adhesive. I hope he doesn't chew it off today. Kind of looks like one of those pony tail wraps that a biker chick would wear. Today, there is a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer coming to visit the factory today, who was an inspector in the Navy for some of the engines we make, and he has always wanted to visit the factory and drive one of the bulldozers. So, as a fellow retired Chief Petty Officer, I'm going to welcome him and present him with a Company Veterans hat. Other than that, not much going on today. Glad it's Friday. You all have a good one. Toodles!

Eat one live toad the first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day.

Fingers crossed, that your DW does not have anything seriously/long term wrong. Very sensible to make a Docs appointment. Getting old sucks.

Wow, DK, scary about your DW's falling over. Hope everything is ok. You're a grand husband indeed, taking care if everything and making dinner. Scary thing with your dog too. It's no wonder you didn't get a run in. I'm sure the retired Navy Chief Petty Officer is so going to appreciate your gesture. What a mensch!

Praying like the dickens here that your beautiful wife just has vertigo or something less. I will visualize her the picture of health and you too. Now get back out there and run. :) I know I know we do need our days to recover. :) Now you do know that even double sided tape isn't going to stop big pup from pulling it off.

about the dog tail..you may have to have a cone around its neck until it starts growing the hair back. This is what we have to do here..hope DW is going better...xoxo

One day the tail looks better; the next it's raw again. I just keep putting balm on it. I know the cone would help, but he and the other dog share a doggy door, and the vet says the cone cannot be an option in that case.

DW went to see the doctor yesterday. He is making appointments for her to have a brain scan and some other tests to see if they can explain her losing her balance. He also gave her a different medication to help her sleep at night. We are picking that up today. The doctor said she may have to deal with this "chemo brain" for as long as 2 years.
