3.2 miles walked today...typical UGH Index of 10. No need for saunas on days like this and it looks like FL isn't the only place in the country with this kind of weather.

Very thankful today that the water seepage we were seeing in the garage was a quick and easy fix for the HVAC person late yesterday. It certainly wasn't obvious what was happening, but DH and I put our heads together yesterday and surmised it was a blocked drainage pipe from the AC. Pat ourselves on the back....that's exactly what it was. Glad it was that and not a slab leak, or something similar (aka big bucks).

I cut my walk short yesterday due to the horrible mosquitos! I had Deet all over me and they were still buzzing in my ears and going for my eyes. Today was a bit better, but I only took the dogs for a mile, as the bugs were really after my Lab, poor thing. We walked fast and I tried to brush them away from her as we went through a particularly bad spot. The rest of the walk seemed better for all of us, but I opted to leave them at home while I finished up. MUCH cooler for them and NO BUGS!

Yesterday, I cleared out the mulch and dirt from my car and got it all placed in the rose beds (had to weed a bit - AGAIN!) and the dirt and special soil got placed over the hole where a huge shrub was taken out. The grass is wanting to grow back there, which is a good thing, but the hole needed extra soil to level it out.

Tonight is the first of two nights' dinners out. I've been off my groove (???) for so long now that I'm thinking of not sweating the dinners so much and just focusing on Monday - or Sunday - to do a strong refocus on this WOE. I'm not off-plan, just having too much on-plan stuff. Plus, I'm bored with my same old routines. Guess I need something new to do or focus on.....some excitement beyond the typical chores of everyday life. Maybe I'll buy a lottery ticket....LOL!

You are amazing keeping up these walks in this heat. And best of luck with the refocus! Mines seems to last all of 10 minutes. Funny thing about the air conditioning vent - just happened at work. All the rain had washed debris around it so it could no longer drain properly.

muggy and wet, on the home fix it show, they said the purpose of our air conditioner this year was to basically be a dehumidifier! i have to use the DEET that is REAL and not watered down. i can't stand that buzzing either, i thought of wearing a mosquito net on my walks. hope you're roses Ste happy happy happy!

Bren, our weather lately has been almost exactly like the summer we moved here - and I hated that the first time around. Nothing to do but just try to "adjust my attitude" toward it - LOL! Hope the rain holds off for your event. :)

Buffy, I can relate to the 10-minute re-focus. Months ago, I wrote that I had lost my pain, so that's why it was more difficult to just do what I need to do. I really think that's the key for me. I no longer have that feeling that I'm WAY out of control, WAY too big, and just 1 doctor appointment away from him/her telling me that I'm heading for diabetes, stroke, heart disease, etc. The "pain" is gone....there seems to be no real urgency to drop some more weight. As for the AC drain, at least we learned what that black pipe outside was for! LOL!

LGM, I've thought of getting a mosquito netted hat to wear for walks when the bugs get bad. Not sure that I will, though, as the city eventually gets out and sprays our area every now and then in the evening. It does seem to cut down on the population....mosquitos, that is. LOL!
