Had a wonderful weekend in Port Orange. Actually it was the first super whole weekend I've had here in sometime. I tend to get caught up in the stress and ruts of daily life, with work, my parents declining health and that stress, my sons and their challenges, my pets and there health, etc, etc. That sometimes I forget to stop and smell the roses. Well this weekend it was about me and just having a nice time with friends and family at a yearly Fall festival we have here called Port Orange Family Days. Full of fun, games, a parade, community booths giving prizes and freebees, music groups putting on concerts & a big movie screen with a fun kids movie Friday night. It was fantastic. I feel so happy and refreashed after. I even brought my dog Sunday to enjoy the walk around city center (where the booths were) and then to the outside theater for the concerts. She loved it. Now I'm back to work, BUT the normal Monday Blues I would have aren't there! Instead it is a awareness that yes, I may have a c##p job at times, at least it is still a job and I do have some control over it. Soooo today is a good day and tomorrow will be another one, then another one, etc. Oh and yes the weather here has finally begun to be like Fall, so not more high 90s with 100s heat index, it is finally nice with a breeze. That always helps my mood.
And yes, I resisted the free candy, chocolate, cotton candy, fudge and popcorn that was being dished out at the festival. But I did have a sample of beef jerky & lots of free water that was being given away! So nice someone must have thought of us, that cannot have SUGAR ;-)
