Informal poll. Anyone can play, chime in or comment.

Which do you consider a greater sin:
Wasting food or gluttony?

I’m referring to throwing food in the trash to stop eating.

And yes, control would be ideal.

But failing that - your plan B?

I feel bad when I throw away food because it went bad - like vegetables that have been in the refrigerator too long. But I have written journals about throwing away food I know I can't resist. Just have to learn how to resist buying the food I shouldn't eat.

That’s a thinker! I often feel like I’m so hungry that I can eat a huge amount of food and about halfway through I’m done. I tell myself that I’ll save it for the next day. Next day comes around and I don’t want it so out it goes. So, bigger sin? If forced, like my life was at stake if I didn’t choose, I’d say gluttony. (Only because I’m more a food waster so it’s a severely biased answer). 😂

Great opinions all. It was as personal question for me, of course. I'd just tossed a tray of pecan raisin cinnamon rolls into the trash (with no options to Miranda) because I'd purchased Friday afternoon with the thought 'oh, wouldn't this be nice to have one with my morning coffee..' When I'd consumed three, with butter, less than 2 hours later .. I decided I didn't need to keep it in the house. And with the isolation, no visitors to immediately pawn or donate. So it was either 'continue to indulge gluttony & eat them, or throw them away.' As gluttony is on the 7 deadly sins list, but wasting pecan raisin cinnamon rolls is 'not' - I chose that path. Not proud. Just sharing.
