What's everyone's story? Why did you decide to lose weight? Personally, my first weight loss journey it came from a place or hating my body. I had to do a lot of healing gained a lot of weight in the process learned to love myself and my body. And then this summer my mom was like I want to lose weight, do you wanna do it with me? And I was like sure. This time for me it was about controlling food and food not controlling me. Developing more autonomy over my body and what I put into it. (My mom hit her goal and has maintained it. Go Mom!!!! I had a little farther to go to begin with so I am still working on it.)

That is wonderful you're making some changes in your life to find that healthier you. My story about losing weight ... I am told by my grandmother and a doctor that I should lose weight, when I was 13. That stuck with me and ever since I was 13 I always worried about my weight.. going on stupid diets and just eating popcorn , slimfast , tuna on soda crackers. I remember only eating one meal a day ! terrible.. Later on I learned how to eat healthier and how important it is to eat a well balanced diet and counting and tracking calories.. Just think , I was watching my weight for 37 years. I'm pretty much an expert .. All you need to do is track what you eat, count your calories, for example I eat 1500 calories a day. make sure you eat your fruit, veg, whole grains, proteins, some dairy, water. Excercise is important, even just walking.. do some weights , or use restriction bands, get that heart going and tone up those muscles..Try not to make your diet feel like it's a pain in a butt, learn to make it a part of your life and just be happy that you are doing something good for yourself..

That’s great that you and your mom are into getting healthy together! Looks like you’re well on your way to doing so. 😊 I came here after gaining 2 pounds and wanted to stop the upward trend before it went too far. I recently weaned off of a stimulant medication for ADHD and I believe that caused food cravings to kick in, especially for sweets. I began eating too much dried fruit. Having a ravenous appetite with sugar cravings freaked me out lol. I first tried doing the keto thing to control things but didn’t do it right which resulted in bloating and gaining that extra two pounds. I finally found this app (and all the great supportive people here!) which introduced me to tracking what I eat. The two pounds came off, cravings have subsided and I gained new friends in the process. 😊🙏

I came to FS after stalling at a weight loss of 20 lbs. Needed to lose another 15-20 lbs and couldn't. Got a nutritionist who recommended this site for logging food. She taught me a better way to eat and I lost weight and am healthier than ever.
